Jersey Girl hurt. I'd love to see this be good, though.
It seems interesting enough. Was not expecting them to be working at some other clerk job I guess. Should be funny enough if he stays on task and does not go wildly out of control like he did with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Not too thrilled that his Smiths wife is in the movie for what looks to be playing I guess Dantes wife (her shirt says "Mrs. Hicks"). Also didn't know that Rosario Dawson was in it either. Looks like it should be at least Ok, ill see it day one.
View Askew's site has done a fantastic job of keeping folks abreast of this film, and posting a major spoiler in the process. The spoiler (which is in Clash's post) actually makes me want to see the film even more, since it hints at one of the main characters getting his act together.
Oh please let this be good. It definitely has potential.
I think this will be good, but it just bothers me that I was so right about Smith. I predicted that Jersey Girl would bomb, and that Smith would go back on his word and go back to making Jay and Silent Bob movies... I also said that I thought that despite them constantly claiming that they'd never make a Clerks sequel, that Clerks would be the first "return." Oh well, let's hope it's good. Unlike others, I liked Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Shame that the Fletch movie won't happen now.
What is Jersey Girl?
Why did you have to tell him? I feel bad for Josh now, because there's a slim chance he may actually go watch it.
If I had to, everyone has to. Liv Tyler's cute in it, at any rate.
I'd trump Liv Tyler.
The pleases and excites me. Sure JSBSB wasn't his best work, although I still enjoyed it. This however, looks very good.
Unlikley. It sounds like poop.Quote:

Yeah, hes all gay male model down in the bottom pic.
P.S. Anyone know if Dante can act yet?
I'm betting no.
I doubt Dante can act, and thats fine because if he suddenly can act it would kind of ruin his performance of a chacter he played 10 years ago when he could'nt act. Also, would that be Banky or Brody?
I disagree. It'd be nice if he improved in the past 10 years and could maybe convey something besides "old jewish woman".Quote:

New trailer online.
Heh. This could turn out alright.
Nice with the Jersey Girl jab.
I almost hate to admit it, but I thought Jersey Girl was a pretty decent movie. Its not a great movie, and its certainly not on the level of Chasing Amy, but it was ok.
I don't really know about Clerks 2 though. I really liked the first Clerks movie, but I have to admit that it is VERY OVERRATED. Its a good movie to watch one time, but I do not think its worthy of the cult status that it has obtained. Moreover, a sequel to Clerks is simply unwarranted.
That being said though, I can't wait to see how Clerks 2 actually turns out. I am kind of disappointed that the movie does not take place at the quikstop and videostore, but it still looks like it may be funny.
It has Earl!
Day one bitches.
Please tell me you know why he's in it.....Quote:

Looks okay, I guess.
Clerks was the only decent movie Kevin Smith's ever done.
I'm a fan of the first, I'll probably end up going to see this.
I love the Silence of the Lambs nod at the begining.
Mallrats is my personal fav... and it seems that a lot of "nonfans" really dig Dogma and Chasing Amy.Quote:

Prediction: everyone will like it in theaters, and hate it after it gets played four-bajillion times by friends on video, then claim to have always hated it.
I dunno though, this trailer has me worried. It looks too over written and does not really seem all that authentic. Its going to be more like the Clerks cartoon (garbage) and less like the Clerks original (awesome).
All his movies save maybe chasing amy are complete crap. Why bitch about Dante's acting? None of them can act, not Jason Lee, Ben Afleck or whomever. Who can worry about emotion when they have to spit out that novelous dialog so fast? It's like Jemery wrote a movie.
They sound like people from Jersey to me, I dunno?
WTF?!?Quote:

Well hopefully this helps Kevin Smith's bank account after the catastrophie that was Jersey Girl. I don't know, I'll probably rent this on DVD.
Not really... it wouldn't have lasted long with all the support in the world. It was a good show to watch, but I haven't had the urge to watch it in a few years because it was hard to get through at times.Quote:

I did too, but Clerks is still fun to watch every now and then.Quote:

Fuck.
That's the first negative review I've seen for it. I'm sure there will be more, but the buzz has been very positive so far.
Something awful is hardly a good measuring stick for anything. That aside this does look like crap, seems the only good smith movie will always be dogma. And how was chasing amy good again? I must have missed that part.
It sounds like a shitty cash-in on the franchise and characters. Except that is all Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was. And it was terrible. Come on Kevin, I know you can do better than this.
That was the first thing I've seen for it. Granted, I haven't been looking but it still didn't sound very good. Hopefully I'm wrong.Quote:

I'm sold on the movie, it has 3d thought bubbles. Good use of CG FTW.
Friday. Anyone care?
I'd just like to laugh heartily at anyone who took that Something Awful review seriously. Check out the other Truth Media reviews on that site... they're all blatantly false and are designed for the sole purpose of getting angry emails from nerds who say "THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED!!!"
I finally seen the trailer for this on TV.(I don't watch much TV). It does not look funny. OMG Jay and Bob are still selling dope in front of the video store, thats hilarious!! er, No.
I can definitely get behind the one line from the trailer though: "There is only one Return, and it's of the Jedi not the King."
Jay gets clean in this flick.Quote:

I was planing on seeing this opening day but I got tickets to see Harland Williams live on Friday. Maybe I'll be able to talk my friends into seeing this after we get out of the club. If not I'll definitely check it out sometime this weekend.
Holy shit, why? Was Gallagher 2's show sold out?Quote:

I can't wait for Clerks 2. I will have to wait until Sunday to see it though, because the Friday screenings in Hollywood all sold out. So, I am going to go to the Sunday showing in Hollywood at 10 p.m., because Kevin Smith is going to be there for a Q&A with the audience when the movie is over....
Although, I am a bit weary of going to any place where Kevin Smith is involved. This guy has an insane fanbase. I went to the opening of "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" in Hollywood to get my Clerks X DVD signed by the casat, and I was standing in line from 4 p.m. until 4 a.m. (yes, 12 hours) when I actually got to the front of the line.
I'm watching it tomorrow night for sure...
Rosario Dawson's in it... so I think I have to see this.

Exactly. I should have never waited that long either. However, I just kept thinking, after every hour that passed, that I had stood in line for too long to leave. Then the next thing I knew it had been like 12 hours and the homeless people were pissed that we were standing in line on the portion of sidewalk that they sleep on.Quote:

This movie may not be for everyone, but as a Kevin Smith fan, I was happy.
DVD purchase day one!
You sticking by this story after seeing the show?Quote:

2 friends of mine said it was awesome, I plan on seeing it tomorrow night.
Just got back from seeing the movie its is definatley very different from the first. There are some really cheesey parts but if you can get past or dont mind them then I think that you'll like it. Especially if your in anywhere near the same point in life as the characters in the movie or have been .
It's not bad, but it's not great either. It's like if Jersey Girl had a car accident with Clerks.
This is about right, BUT I really enjoyed it, and the theatre was packed and everybody was laughing. Great Times.Quote:

It was funny.
Saw it last night and enjoyed it. Parts of it had the entire theater dying (Mainly the porch monkey bit), and I was pleased with it overall. Smith managed to reel in the movie after the clusterfuck of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, not even one "Snootchy bootches" or whatever. But then again, Smith isn't as strong a director as he is a writer, the film was visually pretty bland, but whatever, that's really a non-issue. Tis makes me want to see Clerks again since it has been a while since I've seen it.
And Rosario Dawson. Yes.
4 Life.Quote:

I saw this today also, and was really surprised with how funny this movie was. None of the lame shit Aint It Cool mentioned in their review ever happened, and tons of funny shit they didnt mention did happen. Definitely a worthy follow up to Clerks.
The entire theatre was lolling. It was great.
This movie was good.
How many of you guys seen this? Clerks 1/2 AKA "The Flying Car"
Gave it a watch on the Clerks X dvd. Its a pretty great scene where absolutely nothing happens the entire time yet still is pretty funny.Quote:

For CLERKS.
LOL at that.
I was cautiously optimistic and passed it up on opening day, but on the weight of word-of-mouth I may go watch it this week sometime.
Came in 6th with 9.6 million dollars. Pirates kicked ass again this weekend coming in 1st (3rd week in a row) with like 32 million dollars. That makes Pirates the fastest movie to 300 million in history, beating Episode 3 by a day.
So who made the credits? He put everyone on his myspace friends list in the credits and I left before it the they hit the J's. Very long ass list
And there is going to be another 10,000 for the DVD.
I didn't make it in time for the theater release (I signed up the day after the bulletin was put up and there were already 15 or 19 thousand on there already!). But I was on there before the 21st so my movie and myself will be on the DVD release. :p
Saw it last night (for free). It was actually pretty good, and the first decent Kevin Smith movie since the first Clerks. Maybe Smith needs to just make sequels to Clerks forever for his otherwise shitty movies to be actually watchable.
Still, movies that rely almost solely on pop-culture references have a limited shelf life. We'll see if Clerks 2 is still funny in a few years.
Well, shit, it was always at least that when it first came to DVD (the original version)... at least you get some shit with it now.Quote:

I got the bulletin or blog (can't remember which) from either Kevin's myspace or the Clerks II. You had to add the "Mooby's" myspace by the 21st to get on the DVD release and be one of the first 10,000 to get on the theater release credits.Quote:

I thought ending the movie with "Misery" was perfect. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a better song tie-in.
"YOU NEVER GO ASS TO MOUTH!"
I am so glad this movie finaly came out on DVD. I only got to see this once in theaters, but even then, every time I thought about it, I realized how much better this one was than the original, and I loved the original. I also picked up An Evening With Kevin Smith 2 seeing as Target had that. The first one was pretty good. Jut more funny shit from Kevin talking about nerdy stuff.
DOes he go on for an hour and a half about Prince again? I mean, I like Prince, but damn...
