Transformers Live Action Movie

Realistically, it couldn't be R rated. I'd be happy with PG-13, I mean look how far they managed to push it with Die Hard 4.

No way it would be G-rated, however, not when it involves actual military units shooting at each other. People are bound to get killed. I mean, yeah, in the cartoon no one ever got killed, but also in the cartoon no matter what kind of weapon anyone was holding, all they ever shot were red and blue lasers.

I'm just dying to see an actual HISS tank rolling down the street, and Cobra Commander wearing that wacky featureless chrome battle helmet.

and Ace crashing every Jet he's ever piloted.

Why is it that everyone I know thinks Soundwave is the shit? I mean he IS, but, while looking for the commemorative Soundwave figure at TRU, I was trying to explain to my g/f why I needed this one so bad...needless to say I couldn't come up with many reasons why this boxy, square-limbed guy that turns into a freakin' cassette deck was the best transformer ever.

In related news, I loved the film. Will definately see it again. Blackout is the shit. That first transformation made my jaw drop.

Saw the film loved it as well besides the absolutely pointless hacker characters.

Good question. I mean, I too am in the Soundwave camp, so let's try to figure out why he's the motherfucking man...

1. His voice is cool, all electronic and shit. And his delivery is great, as you pointed out...cool and concise. Keeps it mysterious for the ladies.
2. He doesn't have a cheesy mouth and eyes, just the cool-as-fuck blank faceplate and red visor. I don't know why but that's cool. It's the same reason guys like Boba Fett are cool.
3. He has lots of nifty gadgets and abilities, especially those cassette guys that live in his chest. Cool.
4. His overall character design is just cool.
5. He becomes a boom box so homies can feel the funky beat right before Soundwave transforms back into a robot and stomps them to death.
6. He's a space pimp. Cool.

I liked Shockwave myself.

I finally got around to seeing this last night after the showing before was sold out. I have to say I enjoyed it a lot, but there was a lot of cheese in it. I figure this is the case because the movie had to appeal to the original (and now older) transformers audience as well as the newer younger generation who have yet to experience it. One of the things that bothered me was how the robots, especially the small boom-box one, acted so human, to the point of being retarded.

Overall thought I feel that a lot of the magic was ruined because the movie was one big fucking commercial. It wasn't nearly as bad as Casino Royale, but with all the marketing in these pieces of shit I can hardly stand to see any big budget movie anymore...
