This is what Michael Bay is known for. I really do not like the designs, but seeing this movie in motion brings out the old fanboy still residing inside me.

You basically have 2 options:
1) Michael Bay + robots + transforming + explosions + cars + destruction = winner
2) Michael Bay + sappy love story + a period flick ( plus or minus Ewan Mcgregor) = recipe for disaster.
And I'm sure you can figure out which one of these 2 options the Transformers movie is.
I love how people are hoping for a storyline.
