"Me and my family are looking for Zex"
Oh man, not ANOTHER version of MM!
They could have at least gave MM EXE a platforming series.
Network Transmission ring a bell?Quote:

Anyway, check out the art gallery on the link, same people that did the Mega Man Zero series are doing this.
Yeah I remember...but still. He should be used more outside of the core EXE series.Quote:

Yeah that too. I dig his design, damn it. :cry:Quote:

Would be nice to see those updated designs for the robot masters in fully animated glory, though.
Zex? They needed something new and had already used X and Z?
I think the title is supposed to be Rockman ZX.
http://www.rockmanpm.com/gallery/thu...s.php?album=91
Also, there's a female Mega Man (whouldn't that make her a Mega Woman?) in this one.
You can at least expect two excellent games. But oh no! Are they trying to connect the Battle Network story to everything else or will it turn out to be the Megaman retelling of A Clockwork Orange?
Guilty Gear...
...ZEX.
Mega Man just needs to die. If we can't get Street Fighter IV, they can fucking keep every Mega Man after Rockman & Forte.
I'm not giving back my Zero games.
I should try those. I wish they weren't on a fucking portable. :cry:Quote:

and what the fukk?! the only thing that gets me about all the megaman stuff is that there still isn't a megaman legends 3 yet. it really boggles my mind.
I have one. Stop removing my excuses. ;)Quote:

I read an interview with Inafune not long ago, and he insisted the Legends series would return. He likes the characters as much as everyone else.
Zero 4 is supposed to be the last MMZ game.Quote:

New ZX trailer.
In addition to the Zero and Z Live Armors, there also seems to be Live Armors for the four guardians.
Vile live armor, please. -_-
Um... You might want to put an epilepsy warning on that. Just make sure you have a tongue depresser and a friend ready.
Wow! That has much nicer graphics than the first couple of pics indicated. I'm impressed.
Zex's dead, baby. Zex's dead.
Wow, it looks gorgeous in motion. The animation is fantastic.
i found some new info on the story through wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_ZX
also, capcom has an official site up.

i'm gonna get this whenever it comes out but...i dunno. i hope something new is added. i'm not really a fan of megaman zero.
It looks stupid. Why couldn't they just port that PSP game instead?
Your mom looks stupid. SNAP.Quote:

It's got a more Metroidy sort of progression with a big continuous world, and missions to choose like in Zero. The bosses are a hoot, and the game plays great. The graphics are what Zero was supposed to look like. Big thumbs up, so far.
how is the use of other characters/bosses powers? from gameplay videos i've seen it looks like you can do more than just shoot something. like they have different types of jumps and other abilities.
Yeah, instead of just different weapons you get actual different suits with different abilities.Quote:

Holy shit a mega man game that actually looks interesting, nice change of pace to be sure.
It happens. Remember Powered Up? Like... 4 months ago.
I had no interest in any re-makes of mega man games.Quote:

I'm just saying a whole new game with new game play elements is a lot more exciting than a re-make, no matter what the game is.
Yeah, this is much better than any remake, particularly a kinda cheap one with a questionable art style.
I think Megaman ZX is the most exciting thing to happen since Mega Man Legends 2, which was the most exciting thing to happen since Mega Man 2. I'm just saying the series has more than one or two good games.
Yeah it has about 6 all in all.Quote:

Personally, I think whenever they start a new "sequel series" like X, Zero, and now this, they're generally good, and help make the series interesting again.Quote:

the exe series is good.
i'll probably get this when it comes out along with a ds. i didn't really like the zero series. i got a hold of zero4 yesterday and started playing it. the game feels like a chore.
How could anyone like EXE more than Zero? :wtf:
Indeed. They like to run a series into the ground and then when people are totally sick of them, start a new one. It works though.Quote:

I'm not a pussy, and I don't play well with others, so EXE is a lousy fit I guess. ;)Quote:

That is why i hate the X series. That and it just feels slow and clunky. But Zero was cute and was swift in comparison, so i like it. Never played 3 or 4.
Oh and can I mention what relief it is to play a DS game that doesn't awkwardly attempt to integrate touch screen and dual screen elements that don't belong just because? ZX doesn't use the touch screen for anything, even menus.
I wasn't interested in this game at all until I read Frog's impressions. It sounds pretty good.
So then there is zero reason that this wouldn't have been better on PSP. Good call, Capcom.Quote:

I think sprite art was the best choice for ZX, but it's really reaching to imply MHX and PU are ugly.Quote:

Using the touch screen for menus actually became second nature real quick for me, and I find it to be a convienience.Quote:

I would have rather had good 2D than budget 3D.Quote:

It isn't going to happen on the PSP, though.
probably not.
You take that back! Powered Up and it's bowling ball-headed MM looked kinda goofy, but Maverick Hunter X was stunning. I don't know how anyone could look at the beginning of that first stage with the traffic moving in the background and not be impressed. The colours came through really well on the sharp screen, too. And the positive side effect of 2.5D is that everything can have seamless animation.Quote:

Yeah, but it really isn't that much of a Metroidvania. I mean, yes all or most of the levels are linked to each other, but not in such a way to make you think of a Metroid or Castlevania game. You gradually open up new areas, but its more due to gaining higher key cards then equipment upgrades to reach high ledges or etc. Either way, it's hard to coin ZX with any other level design term, so I guess it being branded a Metroidvania holds *some* truth to it.Quote:

Like I said, MHX does look plenty good for the hardware, but I don't even know that I prefer it to the original, and certainly not as much as ZX, visually.Quote:

This game is pretty easy compared to Zero, but the final boss rush made me bite my DS. Literally.
Also, rocca, I can kill Omega, but how the hell do you get back accross that spikey pit with the vanishing platforms?
Nice to hear the positive impressions on Zex, thanks Frog. Sounds like a competent change up.
And I love Powered Up's visuals. The game is loaded with ace facial expressions and lively character animations. IMHO the cartoon approach in 3D was handled very well by Inafune's devs.
Sure, Rockman ZX sold better than the Rockman remakes in Japan, but according to Media Create, Rockman ZX sales in Japan is still more than 25,000 units behind Maverick Hunter X in North America (ZX's 81,000 to date vs. MHX's 109,000 as recent as July). Perhaps Capcom is just looking at the big picture; worldwide sales.
Think about it. On a global scale, third party game sales tend to be higher on PSP than DS (with the obvious exceptions like Tamogotchi Connection and FFIII DS).
Just picked it up tonight, love what I've played so far.
The fact that they removed all the voice because they're too cheap to dub this thing is really infuriating. If it was something obscure I'd kinda understand, but it's Megaman. Hire some actors.
The voice isn't removed... there was japanese spoken with english subs in the beginning.
Well then.
Fuckin' ass.
Part of me likes this game. The other part wishes that you could just select a level instead of them being all connected like they are. I don't know. The game is good, but I don't really like the way it's set up.
capcom is so strange some times. like in the case of the original ps1 x6 there was japanese voice acting throughout all the cut scenes and in game, then for the x collection the cut scene voices were removed. i also really thought that since they've been going with the same voice acting company (dunno the name but it's that canadian one) since command mission that they'd have no problem voicing future megaman titles. but...yeah, that kinda stinks.
I've never been a huge Mega Man fan, but I really dig the controls of ZX. Just wish I didn't have to search a rubbish-layout map to find actual levels. Who's idea was this crap?
Jeremy Parish.
