It's apalling to me that in a lot of parts of the country kids get off school for MLK day but not President's day. I'm thinking the relative contribution King made to this country compared to Washington and Lincoln would almost fill a thimble.

I got approved for the new apartment I'm moving to with terrible credit, no savings, and less than year being at my current job. All I recall doing was making a point to ask my prospective future landlord, "Are the other tenants quiet?" I explained how we [my girl and I] are very quiet and we're tired of hearing loud music from all the apartments around us all day.

There was an unspoken agreement that the loud music is shit like Lil' Jon and that the people in the apartments around us are black, I think. Her eyes lit up like sunshine when I asked.
