Nickelodeon Studios.. RIP.

I've been meaning to post this since I first found out about a week or so ago, kinda of a sad thing for anyone who grew up around the while "classic" Nick era.

I guess it happened a few months ago, but the news seems to be all over the Net all of a sudden.

A lot of people complain Nick is anywhere near as good as it used to be, and outside of a few shows, I tend to agree, but this just sucks.

Eh, fuck it. They mostly just storyboarded there. The majority of the animation chores were shipped to Korea/Japan/wherever.

Well it was more than animation, a lot of the Live Action stuff was shot there.
Double Dare, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Clarissa..

Not to mention the coutless bumps and promos.

So what, is Nick not going to exist anymore or just not make new shows?

What's going to happen to the channel?

So the nickelodenon channel is gone too? I don't even watch tv so I have no clue about the whole closing thing.

I'd been to Slime Geyser the past 4 years.

Kudos to the ytmnd author for mentioning Rocko's Modern Life. That was indeed a great show.

No more production in Florida. The entire "Nick Studios" facility at the Orlando Universal park is gone. Where Nick has been since 1990, and pretty much every rememerable show from the past was created and shot.

The channel will still exist and will still pump out 900 "Drake and Josh" episodes a week, mostly done from other Viacom studios...

Supposedly the Gyser was destroyed along with many other notable items, such as Olmec from the hidden temple who sat on the corner of a sound stage long after the show went off the air..

Wtf. Shit. No :(

That's what you get when you run a production studio for kids by kids.
