Some speculation that this was Tony's perspective of getting shot. The shot of Meadow running in the restuarant was from Tony's view, and then suddenly everything went black. It's just like how Tony and Bobby discussed how you don't hear or feel anything when you get shot in the head, you just go. I don't buy this bullshit but I also can't accept the way the show just ended.Quote:

Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?). Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to "don't stop". Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family. Thank you David Chase for making it so obscure that I feel bad for hating you at first. Absolutely amazing!!!!

The buildup was absolutly increadible and then...nothing?
I'm too sleepy to analyize right now, but the point that Meadow was late due to bad parking is certainly significant. Maybe the onion rings were poisoned and Meadow's whole family keels over and dies as she comes in the door? I dunno.
Like I said, amazing buildup but I'm super-cheezed that no concrete answer was given.
I didn't like it at first, but now I think I get it. The anxiety we felt in those last couple minutes is what Tony deals with all the time...not knowing whether this onion ring or this Journey song will be his last. The episode contrasted Junior slipping into oblivion with Phil's gruesome death...and I think that the point was that it didn't matter which would happen to Tony, because either way...
