Depends on how stubborn Riccardi gets about him. He may be fined, but its possible the union may get involved.
Lilly's gone at the end of the year anyway. He wants to play on the west coast.
It's funny, around the rest of the continent people think Gibbons is like some hardass cancer, but he's still pretty highly regarded here - fans & media backed him 100% with the Hillenbrand thing.
Lilly has a rep of being kind of a knob, so it'll depend on exactly what management thinks went down, but having two altercations like that in a season can't be good. But he's been the best manager we've had here since Cito Gaston - the offence has been #1 in the majors for most of the year, and he's had the team playing hard the last two seasons. Still, you can't have a situation where your manager is getting into fist fights with your players all the time.
I'd tend to think a guy that had tumors caused by steroids with a guaranteed contract wouldn't go right back on the juice. If he is juicing undetected then so are a ton of other players (including other MVP candidates like Ortiz, Thome, and probably some Mets players too) so STFU dummy.Quote:

burgundy is saying that winning the WS is a straight-up crapshoot. It helps to have a team solid in all phases of the game but in a 5 or 7 game series, anything can happen.
