Best way to put posters up

Im trying to put some posters up in a room I just finished painting. It's just got regular drywall w/ eggshell paint.

What would you recommend for putting up posters? Every year when I used thumbtacks, the posters fall off in one or two corners from the heat of summer.

I heard tape is good but would that hold for a long time?

Any poster I'd personally hang up is worth framing to me. Tacks, tape, putty, it all looks tacky and your poster will take damage. You can find thin, black metal poster frames at places like Fred Meyers and whatnot. Also, if you're hanging posters on slanted ceilings or something frames might not work.

Granted, even the cheapest frames will add up if you have a lot of posters. If I had no other choice or money, I'd use tacks that matched the poster color, and reinforce the backside (where the tack will go through) with electrical tape or something.

edit: If you've just painted the room, and don't want a bunch of little holes in the wall, then maybe running two-sided tape around the perimeter, and with an 'X' across the back would be best.

After a while the tape will take the paint with it.

Any adhesive will remove paint. I've accepted that. I'm a fan of Scotch heavy duty mounting squares. Never had a poster fall on me yet using them, and I generally tear them into quarters and distribute them across the poster. They go a pretty long way. However, they will damage your posters as well as the walls if you're not careful. What I do is apply clear packing tape to the parts of the back of the poster that they're going on. So far, so good.

Also, don't go overboard. Too many posters look bad. 2 or 3 full-size posters per wall should be the limit, and even then there shouldn't be that many on every wall unless it's a pool room or something.

15 bucks at wal mart - great and don't damage the posters at all. come in a variety of sizes.

I liked the taped poster look, but otherwise this is what I use. The adhesive never wears off (three years so far for one poster).

If you've never used these before, it's kind of hard to explain, but when you want to take the poster down, you lift a corner of the poster, pull down on the strip and it comes right off. No damage to poster or wall paint.

That looks kinda cheap compared to the frame I have with thick black lining. Any frame worth it's weight will have clips to hold everything in place and allow it to be opened/closed without hassle.

If you see any frames with metal tacks on the back that you have to bend in order to remove the cardboard, it's a peice of crap. They'll wear and break if you change often.

EDIT: if you go by those strips alone, you still have the risk of marking up or ripping the paper while it's hanging there. Get the damn thing covered.
