Tekken: Dark Resurrection

Man I didn't even know DR was out in the arcades yet. This shit happens everytime, I was gone when 5.1 came out and I get back and I get my ass annihalated for like the first week, oh well. Any impressions on Dragonuv or Armor King?

This is definantly a day one purchase, and those screens look beautiful but doesn't it kind of look like the characters are too big for the screen.

For the past year I've played portables far more than home consoles. I don't see what difference it makes really, the screen on the PSP's big enough to suck you in and take up your field of vision. It's not like you're all that aware of screen size when playing anyway unless you have a massive tv you have to turn your head to take in the edges of. But the "this is a waste on a portable" argument is pretty silly to me. I don't enjoy a game any less because it's on a portable, and I like the "I can kick back in bed and play" angle.

I don't know if anyone wants to confirm or deny, but from what I've heard from people who play/own SFZ3:DU and Darkstalkers for PSP, the system is terrible for fighters, and inputs are a gamble. I don't see how it will be any different here.

Also, I was really just looking forward to seeing DR on PS2, and I still am, but after this news, even if they do plan to do DR on PS2, it's not going to be for a while now, because this is just the kind of game that PSP needs to revitalize its unit sales.

You hit it right on the head, man -- inputs are a gamble -- just as they are for SFA3 Max (Capcom should've offered that d-pad offer as a free pack-in).

Plus, the fact PSP continues to dismiss Infrastructure support for games like this is quite depressing. I am sure DR will be a great game, but it (like any other classic fighting franchise) would drive even greater numbers with true online play.

God bless the PSP for raising the bar in portable graphics. I never thought I'd see portable games look that good; and that would look impressive on a console. The glass in the next to last shot is the most impressive shot to me, with the lava in the final one being next.
