He exaggerates, but he is not that far off. The vast majority of people( and as far as post history goes you as well) expected the DS to fail, It's getting by with unique game design and years from now it will be remembered mostly for it's first party games.

Anyway I played it yesterday and the score isn't that far off. It was interesting and had a nice AOE feel to it, but it was nothing OMG special like Castlevania or something. I would have given it the same score.

Picked it up. Very nice game, and it feels surprisingly accurate compared to the PC version. Not much to say, really... if you've ever played Age of Empires, imagine it with a bit of an Advance Wars twist and you've pretty much got it.

I advocate a 90-100 scale. The mag should make it clear that a perfect game is a 100, completely worthless crap is a 90, and an average game is 95.

Forget numerics, the A-F grade scale is fine. I'd discourage the use of '+' and '-', but if you can't live without it I guess it'll pass. I mean, a 1-100 is no different from a 1.0 to 10.0 scale. And all these odd permutations of 70-100 or 90-100 are only going to further confuse the reader. Just use something everyone is immediately familiar with, the letter grade scale.

Reviews should be based on the Richter scale. :D

God of War rates an 8.2! Deaths are in the thousands! Miles of residential and commerical properties are without water or power because of this game! The aftershocks of its design will no doubt be felt in the coming months.

That would be my verdict on every game :D

I picked this up yesterday for 30 bucks at EB, it's fantastic. I think I might actually enjoy it more than Advance Wars, it really does feel just like the PC games (and I love that you can't win by being faster with the mouse anymore). I'm on the last mission of the Joan of Arc campaign (the first campaign) so far.

I've got 3 stars on every mission except the Siege of Acres mission for King Richard. Anyone have any tips on beating this one in the 15 day time limit?

Having almost finished this game completely I have to say this is one of the best games I've ever played, extremely underrated. If you like Advance Wars at all you should run out and pick this up.
