I was gonna say this, but Sega did in fact have the Genesis version of Sonic available for their MegaPlay arcade system.Quote:

But why does this happen? I mean, how hard is it to throw together a PS2 and a TV and just have someone play?Quote:

Hah! I forgot that Father Guido Sarducci had to be called in to do an exorcism on the guy that couldn't stop playing Pac-Man.Quote:

Film runs at 24 frames per second, TVs don't. This means you have to get a special setup so you don't get roll bars... try video taping a PC monitor and you'll know what I'm talking about. It takes time to set something like that up, and that takes away from the actors just doing what they need to do, when you can just set it up as a different shot later on when actors aren't around. 99% of the time, the shots of the game are just the shot of the TV and do not have the actors in them at all. All those shots are done during "2nd unit" which means it's after the principle photography is over with and the actors have (hopefully) moved onto something else.Quote:

I think any modern game with a licensed soundtrack has to be redubbed when they show it on TV or whatever but the 8-bit sound effects are prolly a running gag by now.
They should still give the actors a real game to play so they don't button mash.Quote:
