I have to. They're what I burn my mp3s to so I can listen to them in the car.

My illegally downloaded music goes onto my iPod, which is played in my car through my iTrip.

At least that would be the case had I not recently lost my iTrip :(

When are they going to realize that CD's are a dead/dying media and they can't save it?

The problem here isn't the madness of the RIAA, its the sheer unchecked power of the modern corporation to swiftly impose its will upon the people. Every company on Earth is grappling with Washington to get what it wants, the good thing is that ends up in mostly equilibrium. Mostly. But no company is going to stand up to the RIAA and say you guys need to stop it, nobody is starving at HQ and you make billions of dollars every year. Because every company likes DRM and forced lock-in. So all we're left with is Congress, and they sure as shit aint going to stand up to the RIAA because they are mostly bought and paid for.
