You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about here IronPlant. Those crime statistics are compiled the same way any study is compiled - by examining available data. Even if you want to stick with your stupid bullshit that the two are different and infanticide somehow easier to cover-up the fact remains that there is enough available data still make conclusions on trends without worrying about a few undocumented cases.

As I said, any crime statistic has BUILT-IN the fact that not every single case is accounted for. But, as anyone with a knowledge of elementary statistics can tell you, you don't need every case to make claims that are perfectly reasonable if you have enough data.

Plenty of unexpectedly pregnant women keep their babies and then abuse the shit out of them. Plenty of pregnancies are carefully planned.

If you want me to take your series of generalizations seriously, cite some statistics. Otherwise any hypothetical set of potential mothers is as good as any other, and your argument is worthless.

But when they're given the choice, they tend not to do that. I live in a country with a high standard of living, child benefits and the like, and there's very little adoption from within and birth rates are high. There's virtually no adoption here that I know of. That was the original point:Given the choice, wanted or unwanted, women tend to keep their babies. Poverty reduces choice and encourages either a) adoption to rich families or foreign countries or b) abortion, if available.

So any discussion is worthless without a pile of statistics to back it up? We're all fucked if that's the case and we might as well say nothing.
