It's this ball thing that has a little set of feet, a pair of devil horns and a squeaker. The squeaker is gone in thirty seconds or less, the feet and horns take a matter of minutes but I buy these things because they are of such a dimension that Linda can't really bite it correctly to destroy the ball part. She's probably had that one for six months or more. By comparison the mid-size Kong will usually only last maybe six weeks. It's just so easy for her to get purchase with her teeth and she just won't let go until she's bitten off a chunk. I have never seen a dog eat Kongs faster than her and she's not even pure pitbull. She has this long bottlenose that doesn't look at all conducive to rending hard rubber. But whatever, she's a serious destructive force.
Check out William!

Me and my dogs ran into him on our walk. He was running loose with a harness and UW Huskies leash. He was hecka aggro at first but he made friends with my dogs and then me. Nobody on that block seemed to know so now he's maxin and relaxin here with the big dogs. I put an ad on Craig's List so hopefully he gets picked up by his owners.
We have a schnauzer. Cute dogs. :)
Mystery solved. His name is actually Jake. He's fucking cool and I almost wish he could have stayed. But he has a great home.
Schnauzers are definitely cute if they don't go too far overboard with the barking.
Yeah, our schnauzer Mercury has the shrillest bark. It's like needles in my ears.
I think I've kept everyone in suspense for a new Scooter update long enough...
If you look along the bottom front of his cage in that one pic, you can see him burrowed there. The little orange thing poking out of the bedding in the bottom left corner is his nose. :)
Last weekend was the NARBCon in Arlington. I bought another Red Eye. He's about six weeks old here. Six weeks from metamorphosis that is, three months total. I got a tadpole too. I wasn't able to get a picture of it though.
I fed the tadpole fish food, a drop a day and the froglet two 1/4" crickets a day. The tadpole was doing well until yesterday morning... not sure what went wrong, but the froglet is eating healthy, all three mornings I've woke up to a cricket free cage!
I really enjoy watching these guys grow and despite being lower vertebrates I believe they each have their own personality mainly going to sleep when I wake up and waking up when I drop in crickets and shut off the lights.
I'll talk to someone more about tadpoles, then give it a shot again the next chance I get. That would be even more awesome; to watch a little egg grow into a land animal.
