Oh come on. I think the combat is pretty much equal. I liked BG&E's simplified system that autotargeted multiple enemies. It's about as challenging as Wind Waker's combat, though, which is a bad thing. The story was a little heavy-handed but it had far more interesting characters than any Zelda game. And at least BG&E's boat can go fast. Plus there's far less ocean to traverse.
I adore BG&E but I thought the story was a little heavy-handed about the way it approached making a statement about the role of new media. What the story did well, however, was create interesting and unique characters with distinct personalities.
You do realize that much of the photography is optional, right? There are far more pearls in the world than you need to purchase everything, so you can easily ignore quests that you don't find interesting - including many of the later film rolls.
Please be true. I'd buy it at a high price, Ubisoft. Many dollars.
