lol, some of those fatalities are pure comedy! :)
anyways, the only thing i can discuss right now is that i want this on 360 XBL A.S.A.P!!! (though i prefer MK2 instead, this will do for now till SF2 hits XBL)
EDIT: Animalities are so retarded! :wtf:
Scorpion turning into a penguin was highly unanticipated.
LOL!
The sad part is I remember most of those.
Yeah me too, tho i do not remember how to do them
god those games were such trash.
White Bunny Fatality!! LOL!! WTF?
MK 4 life foo.
Robotic Smoke FTW.

I wonder how people kept screaming when they didn't have heads?
Yeah I hated that stuff in 3. Also how did the body still stand when they had no head? That always got on my nerves.
I thought Mortal Kombat 1 was an OK game when I was younger, but I really loved Mortal Kombat 2. Even today, I would honestly include Mortal Kombat 2 in one of those fancy "top games of all time" lists :)
However, the series just lost me when Mortal Kombat 3 came out. I absolutely hated that crappy combo system that they tried to implement into the game. Mortal Kombat isn't about skill and doing combos, its about doing all the goofy fatalities. If I wanted to do combos I would have played a real fighting game....or I would play Killer Instinct. So, yeah the series has gone to shit since part 3.....although Shaolin Monks was probably my favorite Xbox game last year.
Shaolin Monks did indeed kickass. It was almost a co-op God of War.
Yeah, it did kick lots of ass. I would say it came close to being a co-op God of War if the game didn't rely on so many of those stupid "knock the guy into the spikes/hooks puzzles." For some reason the camera never seemed to line up correctly for me, and it would take forever to knock somebody into one of the hooks in the ceiling correctly. It would get very annoying after awhile.Quote:

One of the best Co-Op games EVER IMO. Just wish it was longer or had a different story when playing as Scorpion and SubZero. That would have been the SHIT!
That one freaked the shit out of me the first time I saw it.Quote:

Man, MK3 had such shitty fatalities compared to 2.
Indeed.Quote:

I love how Nightwolf's Animality has him turning into a wolf and gouging out Shang Tsung's crotch.Quote:

Weren't Animalities added specifically for the PSX version of the game?

I honestly don't know the difference between MK3 and UMK3.. brutalities? anything else?
Man I hated the MK3 engine.
They also added a bunch of useless palette swapped characters like Rain, Ermac, Noob Saibot, and Jade. I think they put human Smoke back in there too. And yeah, Brutalities were new but not all that awesome. Topping it off was a bunch of new backgrounds.Quote:

I didn't know that when a human being explodes they leave behind 4 skulls, 7 arms, 5 legs, and 3 rib cages.
The entire worthwhile portion of an MK game condensed into a couple minutes. Cool.
Anyone know of any vids like this for the newer ones?
They also added Scorpion. Kill yourself for not knowing that.Quote:

i like the ones where the upper torso is bitten off and since the hands were located below the bite they also float next to the torso.
Yeah. It's like they weren't even trying.Quote:

Like 4 of the animalities were crotch eat-outs. It's like a delicacy with them, I guess.
I always liked the Friendships. Especially Johnny Kage when he signs an autograph and gives it to you.
The fatality where Jade shakes the fuck out of you is great, but the best is when Jax gets really huge and then steps on you.
Why?
Because it's fuckall retarded.
Oh and Cyrax's animality made me lol.
Smoke. Blows up the world.
I like Sektor's compactor one best, myself.
Rain was only in MK Trilogy on the PSX. You can still see him in the UMK3 Intro, though.Quote:

Human Smoke was a button code over his cyborg brother.
All in all, UMK3 was probably the easiest game ever to release. This makes me want to buy MK Trilogy again, though. :(
EDIT: Forgot. Rain and Noob were both in the Genesis and SNES versions of UMK3 as neutered versions of themselves. Also, for those who don't know, Ermac was a bug in MK1. His name stands for ERror MAChine. Heheh.
Damn, I don't know what the hell you guys played but MK3 was great. I need to re-buy MK Trilogy just to have this goodness again.
I forgot I had MK Trilogy. I decided to play it for the hell of it. I forgot how much MK FUCKING owns. Now, my friend and I have been playing constantly.Quote:

That was a good demonstation of some of the worst animation in the history of videogames.
