If the people in the article didn't sleep for a year wouldn't they have gone crazy? The article said their minds were crisp but if I believe correctly the brain produces certain chemicals only when one is sleeping and without them your brain will not function properly.
I know one of the chemicals your brain secretes while you sleep is DMT, which is responsible for your dreaming every night. The absence of dreams is supposed to make you go crazy in and of itself, so I'm not sure how these people are able to stay "sharp" without dreaming and without sleep for a year.Quote:
