When the computer freezes up at work and I don't have anything better to do, I'll whip out some tiny post-it notes (2 1/2" x 2") and do some quick pen sketches while waiting for it to close the offending programs. This happens a lot. So rather than just throw them out or tuck them away in a box never to be seen again, I thought I'd share the better ones.

Those top four would be the best non-fantasy/sci-fi rpg party characters ever. The middle three are the bad guys, but they mean well. The bottom... Their lives are in danger.

I'm rediculously impressed. Drawing is one thing I REALLY need to start practicing but for some reason don't do nearly enough of. I'd love to see more of these when you end up making more.

I like your more stylised work better. Even though i know you're trying to go for more realism, a little more variation in line weight would have made the picture more exciting. The left (his right) arm is a little woogy.

Mm, yeah, I kinda suck with judging line weights. I don't think the arm looks bad, but I definitely need to clean up his right hand. I just sorta plowed through it to get used to the brush pen again, so I know it's fairly sloppy.Quote:

I only had a uni-ball at my desk for these, so they're a little harsher ink-wise.

Have you tried using a brush or croquill before? They're both good for varied line width and allow for much better variation than brush pens(and in the case of croquill they're much cheaper as a nib costs like 99 cents and apparently lasts [b]forever[/i]). I don't know what kind of pen you're using but the one I had was pretty bad for fine lines and when I asked around the people I knew that were using them agreed but were all going with thick outline styles so they didn't care.Quote:

I'm way late to the party, but I love the Post-it idea. I may have to "borrow" that idea, as it forces you to keep it quick and simple.

Also i should point out one thing : You need a new computer at work.
If you get all that stuff done while your computer is frozen or loading, if definatly needs an upgrade...why hasnt anyone noticed this!?
Because they're dumb. And even if they knew, given the option between spending money and not spending money, they'd usually go the latter route.
It's not really that much time though. Maybe 10 minutes a day.
I'de love to see some star wars Dr.who characters in that style. Especially Boba and the Daleks, not sure if you're into any of that stuff though.
I could do Star Wars... Dr. Who I'm not terribly familiar with. Daleks are those robot things with the orbs all over them though, right?... Those don't really lend themselves to much stylization. For that matter, neither does a character who wears a mask like Boba Fett.

Yesterday, I finally got ahold of more of the mini-post-its at work that I used for most of the stuff in here... We had switched to the big ones for awhile, and those aren't nearly as good for the quick, inconspicuous sketching I like to do.
While I work up a good number of those, I'll post some of my older stuff that I got off of my parents' old computer a few weeks ago.
I'm pretty late to this party but goddamn it all looks so good! I remember I used to do the same thing at one of my jobs with the post its, but I beileve they have all been lost to the void. Your style is freaking awesome, makes me want to draw more like that. Cept I'd be afraid that after seeing all this great stuff all I would do is copy something you've done :-P
