In what's sure to be the most cruel of the April 1st jokes, GameSpot has posted a preview of World of Starcraft. May their children be eaten by dingos.

Maybe a joke now, but won't we all be surprised if this isn't announced at some point in the not-too-distant future?

I hope World of StarCraft ends up being like Planetside done right.

But I dont think its gonna happen anytime soon.

For me the fantasy theme is a turn off, so I would. It's a testiment to just how awesome Oblivion is that I am enthralled with a game where elves run rampant.

The existing screenshots were looking pretty bad.

their only upcoming project on the blizzard site is the WoW expansion and i can't seem to find a site for it anymore. at least not linked directly from their main page.

They just said they're looking at the next-gen systems, didnt say they were migrating Ghost to them.

actually, this would be the blizzard game id be interested in. wow came out when the d&d/tolkien fantasy mmo theme had been done too many times for my taste(though evidently not everyone else's) space themed mmo's are a little less common, swg, anarchy online, eve, rf online and what else? and each of them had an element that turned me off, so a world of starcraft id actually be interested in. especially if they grabbed the variety that was swg's pre-nge class system and balanced it better, i'd be on that day one.
