Games that were worth the money and more.

I don't know if a thread like this has been done before, but I think it would be interesting to see the games that members here think were worth more than they paid for them.

I'm not talking about an RPG you bought for its original retail price and spent thirty enjoyable hours on, because that may or may not be extreme value. Nor am I talking about a good old game you just got for almost nothing and played for a few hours. Rather I'm on about the games that, looking back now, you would consider a steal for their original price, considering you spent so many hours playing them.

Oh, and 'Mortal Kombat' and 'Your Mom', just to get those out of the way. The Mortal Kombat bit is serious, actually, because SNES Mortal Kombat 2 on SNES seems cheap now after so many hours playing it. Any others?

For me there are literally only three:

NHL Hockey
Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition
Star Wars Galaxies

Those are the only three games where my play time can be measured in thousands.

I think I clocked about 170 hours in Disgaea doing just about everything. Also, I think I must have played through Gitaroo Man enough to melt the disc. Finally, Castlevania: SOTN and FFVII got a few playthroughs, too.

IIDX was a ridiculous timesink for me in the past, and worth the money. Half-Life at $15 is one of the greatest purchases ever, too.

Anything with Street Fighter in the title.

And even though my controler is broken, Guitar Hero.

That game is amazing.

These aren't necessarily my favourite games but they're some of the ones I put the most time into.

Any of the Crazy Taxi titles, the first more than the others.
Morrowind and I'm sure as soon as I get my hands on it- Oblivion.
Any SNK game. (2001 most of all)
Street Fighter II, A3, and TS.
F-Zero GX.
Rallisport Challenge 2.
Forza Motorsport.
Gran Turismo 2 and 4.
Max Payne 2.
Burnout 2: Point of Impact.
Panzer Dragoon Orta.
P.N.03.
SSX3 and On Tour.
Ikaruga.
Rez.

I'm sure theres more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Halo 2 mostly. At least for the past year or so. It is the only game I have consistantly come back to, all because of multiplayer.

Shit, theres been lots of games over the years that have been worth it and then some.

Heres some I know have been worth full price and more.

Call of Duty 2


These are just a few that popped into my head at the moment. There have been many more though.
