When Raw comes on, I watch the opening video before remembering that it's Raw and put in my tape of last week's Smackdown.
I'm not kidding. Raw's just fucking terrible. I tape it on my other VCR in hopes that something worthwhile will happen, but I'm not holding my breath.
I don't know if I'd go as far as saying Raw is fucking terrible, but it's clearly not as good as Smackdown right now.
Smackdown has four of the best workers in the world on their show (Rey Mysterio, Eddy Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle) and they also have the luxury of being able to edit and tweak their show before it hits the air. That probably factors into it all.
And I guess it helps that they have Heyman writing the show. He's always been able to get the most out of talent he has. The man has made Matt Hardy into an entertaining character, so he has proven to me that he can basically do anything.
Some news and notes....
WWE had their stockholder meeting this morning at The World in New York. The main details that came out were the following...
In the biggest news of the meeting, Vince said that he wants to bring ECW back and give it its own late night time slot. He then added that he is trying to purchase all of ECW's video footage in bankruptcy court.
Vince said he believed it was good business to keep competitors around and was willing to help smaller companies like NWA TNA in the future. McMahon said WWE is no position to help anyone at the moment till they get their own house in order. He then added, "I wish those boys in Tennessee well."
McMahon talked about the interview he did recently with Sports Illustrated. He said he was not pleased with the title "WWE on the Ropes" and mentioned he'd love to get the reporter in the ring.
WWE plans on having a "Classics" show featuring footage from their archive. Vince announced they will eventually use various forms of media to distribute the footage, but it will be either on video or a type of paid format to start with.
Someone asked if WWE could stay out of court. Vince replied that he'd love to stay out of court, but when people make up allegations he has to fight them. He said Nicole Bass's case is ridiculous and has no plans of settling out of court because that will encourage lawyers to convince other disgruntled former employees to sue.
Vince mentioned China was a potential hotbed in the future so this indicates WWE may have plans to tour there in the future.
On the topic of WWE's movie division Vince said they plan on making low-budget or straight-to-video movies involving WWE Superstars.
WWE had a "productive meeting" with Ultimo Dragon at Raw on Monday and hope to do business with him in 2003.
Chris Kanyon is hoping to get a medical release in a week or two and will report for OVW to shake ring rust.
Rhyno should be able to get back in the ring this week and begin light workouts and he prepares for his late November/early December return
Ross confirmed the releases of Mike Awesome, Shawn Stasiak and Horace Hogan and encourage Stasiak to head to Japan for seasoning thus hinting that the two sides may do business again in the future.

I was a big fan of "tha 70s guy" aka "The Fat chick thriler" it's a shame he didn't adapt to the WWE style. Stasiak I dunno the guy has a pet Monkey and tape recorded conversations with Wrestlers.

ECW wouldn't be ECW. Fans would have their orgasms about it for the first month or so, but then Vince will shitty it up by trading in some WWE talent to vary the roster. You know it would happen. And who would be the next-generation of ECW wrestlers? WWE developmental wrestlers.
It just won't work.
It's a shame that Mike Awesome isn't going to be with the WWE... in the ring he was pretty good for a big guy, but when you only have him wrestle on Velocity every once in a while of course he's going to put on shitty matches, he should have at least gotten a shot at a few matches on the big shows.
I would agree on the Stasiak comment, if he spent some time training in the Japanese style, good things could come.

Agreed. I saw him do a match against Decan Batista on Heat and it was terrible. Awesome looked owerweight and out of shape. Hell, he could barely get himself over the ropes when he tried to do a vaulting body press to the outside.Quote:

I still remember how awesome he was in his prime though.
Eh, maybe I'm just a bit nostalgic. Maybe I just want to see someone get Awesomebombed off a steel cage again.
Oh, and on Smackdown... Eddie Guerrero stole the fucking show. I loved how the crowd realized (for once) that he carried the whole match and gave everything he had and still put Edge over when he didn't really do very much in the match.
