If that happens that would be a screw job of the Bicentennial. If they screw RVD out of a title. I would be pissed off to the point I would forfeit my Fantasy team ... though my team stinks anyway, but still.Quote:

And ECWs big celebration at the end of the show came off as almost heelish given the way that RVD "won" the belt. Even if he keeps the belt there is going to be controversy surrounding his title regin and the fashion in which he got it. They need to have a rematch and have RVD win clean if he's keeping the belt, but honestly, the damage is already done.
Did you watch the show Advocate?
I did watch the show. I liked the ending cause I hate WWE anyway. I wish NWA came back really. WCW stunk but is still twenty times better than current WWE.
BTW 453 points. Wow ... I stayed in 6th place.
Current WWE blows. This is fact.

Trinity is there, right above Balls Mahoney. And Boo to ECW.com for not putting up uncensored pictures of the Funk/Foley stuff from last night.
In the Fantasy game Stevie Richards is still listed as a Smackdown guy, WTF? And the ECW.com wrestler page shows a lot fewer guys than we actually know are in ECW.
Tuesday night should be awesome.
I know it's not what you meant, and it barely seems like it, but NWA is back in the form of TNA. They are NWA-TNA and have the NWA World and Tag titles. The problem is that it's in name only, it doesn't refer much else to NWA, and it's basically a "bought" belt. Think of that as WCW and you're almost right though.Quote:

The thing about ECW is that outside interference is not illegal. It's a 'win at all costs, no limits' atmosphere, so Edge running in is completely legit, and probably why the crowd didn't give a shit. The fact that this controversy just makes me want to watch RAW tonight even more probably lends do the theory that this screwy finish is good for business. I was happy with ONS, more than most other pay per views I've ever seen (maybe not Royal Rumble '04 when Benoit had an outstanding match with Angle... or was it '03?).Quote:

ECW One Night Stand last night was really fucking amazing. I only ever usually buy 2 PPV's a year: Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. One Night Stand just became a constant third after two amazing PPV's in a row. I only wish we had sci-fi and WWE would get in gear and find an outlet to air ECW up here in the great white.
---------------
As for Fantasy. I'm happy with my progress. I've shot up to the #5 position in a mere two weeks. The inclusion of ECW really helps make Fantasy a lot more interesting for everybody. You're constantly weighing who you'll pick based on how many weapon shots will be involved in an ECW match vs. a regular title match on Smackdown that week. I'm pretty consistent with my scoring in fantasy and Chux and Triple Break Inc. always begins to struggle after we hit the mid point through the season.
This upcoming week is going to be very interesting with the erection of the ECW show on Sci-Fi and the potential title craze about to befall RAW.
Rumble 04 was the shit, so was the snow storm driving home from it and Dennys at 2 am being stupid as hell.Quote:

Also, both rosters would have a LOT of sorting out to do.
JBL, Triple H, Cena, Batista, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Edge, Benoit, Boogeyman, Lashley, Ken Kennedy, Booker T, Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, Kane, The Great Khali, Umaga, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, and Ric Flair are some names that are pretty prominent on each show. A lot of these guys would have to be removed or watered down in order to have a competitive hierarchy.
I didn't even say guys on the lower end like Paul Burchill, Finley, Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro, either.
I think The SAT signed with ECW. Not sure if it was just a rumor though.
You'll love ONS2 though.
Yeah Rumble 04 had Eddy and Benoit coming out big winners, and the crowd was behind them 100%Quote:

Josh, at least watch the first show of the new ECW. It'll be a mix of older ECW guys and a "new breed UNLEASHED!" for new guys. Here's some potentially good RVD news via the Wrestling Observer site -Vince's DVD lineup -Quote:
--We had a confirmation this morning, and keep in mind how much things change in WWE, that they will not be taking the title off Rob Van Dam tonight on Raw, and he will lose it in the ring at some time in the future. Van Dam vs. Edge is scheduled for Vengeance, although it is possible they would put John Cena in and make it a three-way since there is no obvious match-up for Cena on that show. To pretty much confirm that, Van Dam will be in Charlotte tomorrow at Noon for the Vengeance press conference, and the fly into Trenton for the tapings.
Barring the KOTR and HHH matches, there are some good brawls on that set. I'm in no rush to see them though, so I won't buy this until after I've completed my WWE DVD backlog.Quote:
--The Vince McMahon DVD, which includes a Vince McMahon workout package, features Vince vs. Austin from the 4/13/98 Raw, Vince vs. Austin cage match from the 1999 Valentine's Day PPV and Vince & Shane vs. Austin from the 1999 King of the Ring on Disc One. Disc two has Vince vs. HHH from the 1999 Armageddon, Vince vs. Shane from 2001 Mania, Vince vs. Flair from the 2002 Royal Rumble, Vince vs. Hogan from Wrestlemania 19, Vince vs. Stephanie in the I Quit match and Vince vs. Undertaker from the 2003 Survivor Series.
But does it include his complete entrance video, in full screen?
Or better yet a special feature called "The many faces of Mr. Mcmahon" which would be a gallery of all of vince different facial expressions.
How about a "You're Fired!" video anthology showing all of Vinces firings.
Leave the "Vince makes out with young hotties" and "Kiss My Ass Club" special features out though pls.
The production crew will probably get paid a bonus for putting those in - so I'm positive we'll see them.
At last we have all those quality Vince McMahon matches in one package.
Geez, you're probably right.Quote:

I'm not saying you don't have a point, as it does look like you could assume Edge is in on something with ECW, and he could fit in there, but I just don't see any point to it at all, and I especially doubt anyone gives a shit about where he goes.
My point to all of it was they seem to be building a WWE v ECW angle longer than we all expect. For all we know they actually could be eliminating Brand Extension. Even though they deny it has nothing to do with it, but they are eliminating the two separate magazines they distribute. It will no longer be Raw magazine and Smackdown magazine. It will be in August ... WWE Magazine. Let's say for the sake of argument they eliminate the two brands and make SD/Raw like it used to be. Then, doing what they are doing makes sense. Is it gay ... sure. Is it better than WWE of a year ago? Hell yeah it has an air of unpredictibility.Quote:

SM isn't going away. It's on networkl T.V and by the time CW hits will be the face of the "newest" channel on T.V. The only reason why SM has been put through the wringer lately is becuase UPN is going through a power struggle right now and as a result SM is being preempted everywhere. By the time CW launches SD will be getting a bigger focus and will be rebuilt instead of being left to flouder like it is right now. I gurantee it.
ECW couldn't be on Network T.V and the high violence won't let it run on Primetime on many cable channel's either. It's a 3rd brand made to hit small areas and as a result will probably make Vince a lot of money. Why would he end the brand split( WHich is helping him make record profits) and invest in a fed that never hit the big time and probably never will thanks to it's high violence.
Wow I guess you didn't understand what I wrote at all. I never said get rid of SD. I meant BRAND EXTENSION. IE: BATISTA ONLY BEING ON SD. WOW.Quote:

Sandman, Dreamer, Super Crazy, Doring and Roadkill, Stevie Richards, Justin Credible, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, Taz (not wrestling), Terry Funk (if he's still alive after ONS), Jazz, Little Guido, Big Guido, Tony Mamaluke, C.W. Anderson, Francine, Sabu, Sign Guy Dudley, Joey Styles, Jason, Bill Alfonso, Mikey Whipreck (maybe).
Others too. We'll get a clearer picture tonight.
ECW has been taped and the spoilers are out. I'm not spoiling anything here, but I'll let you know what I think you should do tonight:
DO ANYTHING BUT WATCH THIS ECW SHOW. THIS LOOKS FUCKING HORRIBLE.
ANYONE THAT WAS INTO ECW IN THE PAST AND IS INTERESTED IN WATCHING AGAIN: JUST PUT IN AN ECW DVD. YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE STUPID BULLSHIT THAT HAPPENS TONIGHT.
ECW went bankrupt and then Stephanie McMahon bought it. In order to compete with the WWF she joined ECW with WCW (her brothers company) and created the Alliance. In order to afford WCW and ECW Shane and Stephanie both sold their WWF stock to a consortium. Shane and Stephanie put their entire combined company on the line against the WWF in an attempt to control the entire sports entertainment industry. After a despicable double cross from Kurt Angle the Alliance was beaten at the 2001 Survivor Series. WCW and ECW ceased to exist as seperate entities. Vince thought he was the sole woner of all 3 companies, The Tzar of Sports Entertainment if you will, when it was revealed that he in fact had a partner. When Shane and Steph sold their stock to the "consortium" it was revealed that the true owner of that stock was none other than 16 time heavyweight champion Ric Flair!!! So now Flair and Mcmahon were equal owners of WWF (and by extension WCW and ECW). Vince couldn't stand this shit and challenged Flair to a match at the 2002 Royal Rumble. If Vince won, Flair would get the F out. Flair did however win, and so he kept control of his half. Vince went a little bit psycho at this point and started talking to himself in the mirror. He reasoned that with Flair having such a large degree of control over the WWF it would soon die. This saddened him greatly. He then reasoned that if anyone was going to kill his favorite creation it would be HIM, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. So he resolved to inject the WWF with a lethal does of poison! He was bringing in the entity that had so much to do with the demise of WCW. He was bringing in the nWo!!!Quote:

And he didn't seem to want anything if he won. After outside interference from "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar, Vince was victorious and full control of the WWF (and by extension ECW and WCW) was once again his.
The like, 3 years later Eric Bischoff was running his mouth about how much ECW sucked (or something) and so Vince came out just to spite him and gave ECW a Pay Per View, which was pretty good. Then... nothing.
A year later Heyman showed up on RAW and told Mick Foley "Hey Mick, you know ECW is coming back full time, right?". And that was the whole fucking story.
The End.
-disclaimer: I didn't check any facts whatsoever.

What a bullshit first show.
35+ minutes of commercials & promo's and about 10 solid minutes of wrestling. It's like ECW on TNN all over again. Except the wrestling isn't as good.
I hope the Sabu -v- Cena match is good at Vengence.
Well, I'm glad Show didn't win. I coulda used the points, but I'd much rather see Sabu v Cena II at Vengeance than Show v Cena 15 at Vengeance.
The show had a slightly heavy RAW influence tonight, but that's to be expected when they have a PPV to sell in 2 weeks. I predict that after the PPV things will cool off a little and we'll see more of a true ECW show, whatever that is.
They already had this match on free TV last week at the WWE vs ECW special. You should download it, it was pretty decent I guess.Quote:

The crowds are WWE crowds, so I don't think we'll need to worry.... we also won't have to worry about this brand lasting very long.Quote:

Looks like this year's ONS is coming to DVD just as fast as it did last year. Amazon has it listed as shipping on July 11th. Good news for me since I didn't even know about the PPV until yesterday.
Truth, and if any match on the ECW show ever ends in a DQ that will just be the end. That was one of the best things about ECW back in the day, you never had to worry about a bitch out DQ ending to a match. And all matches should be "falls count anywhere", the royal rumble style over the rope battle royal tonight was bad enough.Quote:

ECW on TNN regularly had great matches, which puts it above Impact. Tonight's show was... just terrible. I hope they end up creating an ACTUAL belt for RVD. Not even ECW resorted to using replicas. ONS coming out on 7/11 is actually more time than ONS '05's DVD - which came out two weeks after the PPV aired. I'll give WWE credit on the set - it was perfect for ECW, and there wasn't a hint of SD's regular set anywhere. WWE has 13 shows to make ECW work, and they completely wasted one of them to build to a non-ECW PPV while also putting on terrible programming. Even the worst Impact was worlds better than this. Shit, the first ECW on TNN show had a replay of RVD-Lynn, which was better than anything on this show.
Here's a note on "Enter Sandman" -Quote:
-There is no chance at all that Sandman will ever use Enter Sandman as his theme in this new brand. Metallica was demanding 10-13 million bucks a YEAR for the rights to use that song for Sandman's theme. It's said that that total is more than the rights for anyone in WWE, from the most major stars on down. Many people feel sorry for Sandman because of this, and feel really bad for him, since he has really worked hard to get into what many are saying is the best shape of his career for this new ECW brand.
I dunno... the zombie cracked me up, and it was obviously not done seriously. Seemed like a sort of a in-joke at how Sci-Fi was wanting them to do scifi-themed stuff, and on that level I'm okay with it.
Plus, as stupid as I think gimmick wrestlers are... I could be down with a wrestling zombie.
