Man, things are getting bad. I used to watch every second of Smackdown. Last night I flipped it on here and there, but I mostly watched an old Kids in the Hall tape I dug out of my old pile of VHS tapes. And I had a better time doing it. On the occasions I flipped on, I was treated to:

Eddy Gurrerro doing his horrible Cheech Marin act. Is it me, or did his push come to a complete halt when Chavo came back? He was getting popular as hell, but "Chavito" seems to have dragged the poor guy back down...

Vince doing a endless promo with a priest

Taker doing a endless promo in a graveyard

Chavo getting his ass kicked by Shinequia

John Cena doing his new "good guy" act, including a cheesy J2 Stinger commercial and kissing the asses of celebrities sitting at ringside...man, he needs to be a heel.

Man...they need to put Paul Hayman back in charge. Aside from the whole Al Wilson debacle, Smackdown was consistantly good under his watch.

His YJ Stinger ad is kind of okay, I do love the SD hype promo for him that airs though, makes him seem like a big deal. "See the Doctor of Thuganomics, John Cena, only on SmackDown." Great stuff. Same kind of thing is done for Eddie in his SD hyping promo. Now if they'd just air these instead of a minute of Vince talking about soiling himself, maybe new stars could be made.

isnt that sig pic of rags just a lil bit big? i dunno if ill watch the ppv this week. if austin looses his "job" he'll be reinstated by linda the following monday because if interference so the outcome is pointless. the buried alive match to me only works well with the old undertaker and pretty much everything else i could care less about.

And, yeah, I agree, even if Austin's team does somehow lose the match, the decision will just end up getting reversed within a few weeks much like Coach/Snow becoming the new announce team. *sigh* :(

With Vince in the match, I wouldn't be suprised if he put himself over cleanly on Taker, who otherwise really doesn't job completely clean to ANYONE. Interesting dichotomy there.

He's very fortunate, but I think he knew the risks of his surgery going into it, that it wouldn't be a cure-all for his neck, and that complications could arise. I'm still amazed at how great he has been since coming back, and that he worked his Mania match like a madman. Thankfully, the format of the SS match will allow him to work on the limited basis that he needs.

BTW, this PPV was good, story wise. Nothing was exactly as it was built up and the opener was amazing. The crowd seemed in to everything except the womens match, but maybe even that a bit too.

I can't believe Cena and Benoit are survivers.

I hate it when they bump the cruiserweight title matches to Heat instead of being on the main show :curse:

I don't know if anyone else collects Pay-Per-View DVD's, but my local Kmart has started selling some older ones for $4.99 a pop. I have to check to see which ones I have and don't have (did I get Summerslam 02 or 01..heh) and I'm going back tomorrow to raid them.

By the way, the Shane-Kain match was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.

Raw was really good tonight, and Jackie Gayda's nip slip made it all the better. I would have been so pleased to see Flair win the IC title, but Orton's a better fit for it, as he's basically the Barry Windham of Evolution.

Survivors Series was great last night, very well booked up and down the card. Glad they went with Angle's team going over Lesnar's, with Cena looking especially strong. And the crowd was insanely hot for the Team Lesnar vs. Team Bischoff match, Shawn probably put on the most incredible performance since he made that comeback when he was in that 3-on-1 situation. And keeping Goldberg champ was smart as well.

Though I'll admit the result of the Guerreros/Bashams match didn't thrill me, I still don't want to see a Guerreros match but Vince is determined to give it to us *sigh*. Ambulance match was also a trainwreck, but it was pretty brutal (in BOTH ways) and it had the right finish. Looks like their finally going with the big-ass push for Kane. Overdue by probably a month, but at least it's happening.

Watching Raw right now, always broadcasts last here in the Pacific time zone. But, so far so good :)

Anyone catch Jackie Gayda's nip slip? It was right at the end of the Rico/Val match, when she turned around and looked at Lance Storm. Got a nice shot of it. Ah, the dangers of live TV...now why can't that happen to Stacy? :lol:

What the Goldberg/HHH feud is STILL going?!? Holy shit, enough with HHH in the title picture already!! I can't fucking stand it anymore. I'm a big HHH fan but I can't fucking take it anymore.

Anyone got a clip of jackie? I'm not sure how I feel about Matt's jump, I just hope he gets more of a push, but I know that won't happen. It was definitely lame that they just rehired her, but I've come to expect shit like that now. Hell, it didn't even phase me in the least when I heard it. Same with the Jericho/Trish kiss :rolleyes:

I'm not digging Hardy going to Raw, as there really isn't much for him to do. He's not going to be holding any belts anytime soon, as the world title is out of his reach, and the IC belt will be Orton's. I can't imagine who he could team with to win the tag belts. On the upside, he does get to spend more time with Lita, so for him personally, it's a good move.

But I thought they were through! :)

Well, the IC title hasn't meant shit for a while now, I'd just like to see how the belt would look around his waist, and I don't see him winning the world title anytime soon, so any title for Flair is good. Maybe he and Batista could go after the world tag team titles or something.

I think Flair should stop wrestling altogether and just manage people. Give him one last big retirement match and let him go out on top.

Currently watching Raw, here's some random thoughts:

Man, did Triple H get fat or what? What the fuck happened? I mean, did you see how far out his gut was sticking in Bischoff's office after his match with Goldberg? Also, he's lost muscle mass, his chest used to be awesome and now it's half the size it used to be. Geez, I guess getting married IS the end.

Speaking of Goldberg, man, the crowd was flipping out for Goldy. And I'm happy he didn't lose the title, if only so that HHH didn't get it back. BTW, nice way to fuck up the ending of the match, the ref ringing the bell for a DQ, then trying to count a pin two seconds later after HHH petigreed Goldberg, then 'Berg kicks out at two anyway.

Goddamnit, Triple H gets ANOTHER PPV match for the title? I know it's a 3-way with Kane, but STILL...please, Triple H, go feud with someone else. Anyone else.

Oh, and I can't believe I live in a world where a completely worthless piece of shit like Mark Henry gets a win over Booker T. :rolleyes:

Overall decent RAW tonight. Nasty hit on the ropes for Flair though. JR was saying he may have broken his nose. Anyone know about that? The whole match fell apart after that.

The midget thing was "meh" for a while and got really old really fast, especially JR winning it when he wasn't even in the match.

I notced HHH's change too. He didn't look fat, just not as mutant-like as he used to (like Steiner).

I liked Raw tonight, there wasn't anything really unwatchable on it, even the midget stuff was okay due to everyone involved playing it up for laughs.

Saw the Flair thing, I was really concerned, I mean he really looked like he hurt himself. You gotta give that guy a ton of respect, finishing the match like he did with an injury, especially at his age.

I had trouble seeing exactly what Flair did, though. Did he trip and go nose-first into the rope? That's what it looked like. I remember Test did that once a few years ago when running into the ring.

You know, I've never owned a WWE tape or DVD, but I'm really interested in picking up the Flair 3 disc set. Anyone here see it yet?

anybody remember when flair had a cage match during the heyday of the NwO. i forgot who it was against but i remember then placing his head in the doorway and slamming the door several times into his face. mind you he didnt even put his hands up and it was the bar or the door that was smacking him. i had no clue at the time why they would even consider such a thing and still dont. they showed him afterwards with tubes in his nose and all bruised and bloodied.

I just want to finally see the fabled Flair Vs. Steamboat match I keep hearing about.

I think he hit the between the second and third ropes and smacked his nose on the way up. At least that's what it looked like to me.

Dolemite, there were many great Steamboat-Flair bouts, there's one on a Triple H DVD as well.

Well Raw has been consistently better than Smackdown for a while now.

My friend and I laugh our asses off at Goldberg since he gets his ass kicked/ambushed at every RAW. Remember last week's Raw where Kane came in just to beat him up some more instead of seemingly helping him? Its like he should win 'The beatdown of the week' :lol:

Anyway Mark Henry sucks and I wish Kane put the mask back on and went back to that old costume. The midget thing was just slapstick shit which was pretty funny even for just a bit.

Flair got pwned by a rope which was funny but I do respect him for finishing the match. And oh yeah screw his DVD!

I never saw the match itself since it was before I started watching, but I remember seeing highlights of it when he returned to WCW... man that was brutal.

Curt Hennig was the one who slammed Flair's head with the door.

Looks like Trish Stratus is going to be in the next Mortal Kombat movie. Pretty interesting, I guess. She sort of fits the part... I think.

I can see Trish as Sonya..not a bad choice, plus Trish does that head grab with her legs at the turnbuckles which is similar to what Sonya does. Its definitely good to see Lambert back as Rayden though..that dude who played Rayden in the second movie stunk..well..the movie stunk but still.

Actually, when I was in California in the beginning of October, I actually ran into Randy Savage in Gold's Gym in Venice. He was there working out with Bryan Adams and some other guys that I didn't know. Me and my friend were walking around and I was like, "Dude, that's the Macho Man!" He thought I was kidding at first. Anyway, I went up to him and started bullshitting with him for a few minutes. He was actually really cool and friendly. Anyway, the subject of his CD came up:

"Hey, Macho, I heard your CD."
"Ooh, yeah, did you like it?" (He actually said "Ooh, yeah". I couldn't believe it)
"Um...yeah, sure." (not really a lie, like Korly I think it's so bad it's awesome)

If I get a chance tomorrow I'll scan and post the pic I took with him.

Good episode of Smackdown tonight, though I'm still not convinced of the ridiculous Brock's Bigmen Stable push going on. The only one I think actually has any potential is Matt Morgan. Train and Jones are both hopeless, and Show's been pushed about as much as he can, I don't think he could possibly generate any more heat than he already has. Ah, whatever, if it gets Vince off his rocks to push big men, there's really nothing we can do about it...

Noble/Akio and Guerrero/Haas were very watchable matches. I wonder if the only reason they haven't done the Chavo turn yet is because their planning on hiring a Luchadore to be the "real friend" he was talking about last week. I wouldn't mind seeing a Juventud Guerrera/Eddie Guerrero feud at all :D

And I wonder if Vince will again take out of context the "BULLSHIT!" chant that conluded the Show with Lesnar's team's beatdown of Cena & Benoit after the screwjob, both feet hit the floor at the same time Battle Royale conclusion. Vince, that wasn't heel heat, that was you pissing off fans again with another stupid bait & switch that ultimately didn't deliver another promised main event. Honestly, will he ever stop doing that nonesense? :mad:

I missed the first 15 mins. of SD due to getting home later than expected for Thanksgiving. Good show from what I saw of it. I loved the battle royal. Got the Flair DVD set for $20 today from Best Buy, it rang up as $28, but the clerk (thankfully) went with the price on the tag, and I got a damn good deal because of it. Can't wait to watch it after Christmas.

$20 for 3 DVDs? Was it a sale?

I thought it was stupid too and the only time it was done entertainingly well was when Bret Hart and Lex Luger did it. It was a great match in the end though and I was rooting for John Cena even if he did get beat up more.

It was definitely one of the better Smackdown shows but I still give the edge to RAW for those ever hilarious Goldberg beatdowns.

Dolemite, I think it was just mis-marked. I'm saving the set as a Christmas gift to myself, mainly due to me buying far too many DVDs in the past few weeks, I should probably watch them before I undertake this behemoth, also, the cover art rules all, with an image from his 1992 Royal Rumble match on it.

FX, "only" one nip popped out, and it was on-air for about a solid second or so, good stuff. Certainly much better than Rico in a thong from last Monday's Raw. And isn't that belt just the funniest thing ever...the company had the camera man do a friggin' CLOSE UP on that pile of trash, which was just a regional title with those ever-so-professional plates on it. Also, there will be a Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio match on the SpikeTV VGAs this week. w00t!!

WCW has always had those big-ass ugly belts, and I've always hated them. WWF belts were always so streamlined and good-looking.

I remember when the WWF IC title looked better than any other belt out there.

Also, WCW's belts did look great at times, the Big Gold belt, the original version, was one of the most beautiful belts ever. The final version of the WCW U.S. title belt also looked great, while the one before it was the same basic design, only in a much smaller form. The cruiserweight belt looked nifty, and the final version of the WCW tag titles looked nice as well. The cruiserweight tag titles looked like horseshit though, as did both versions of the hardcore title belt, and the hardcore trophy. The WCW U.S. tag team straps looked gaudy, even worse than the current U.S. title belt design. The TV title has pretty much always looked great. I liked the silver and red one used in the early 90s. The one used in 93 also looked nice, as it looked important, and I liked the little touch of having the "TBS" logo printed on the side plates of the belt.

The WWF titles looked amazing from the late 80s' until 1997-1998, the IC title was stunning, the winged eagle world title belt was fantastic, the tag straps were fantastic, with a rich, gold finish on them. Then came the Light Heavyweight title... which looked like a red version of a bastardized IC title, thank God they changed the belt color to black. I loved the redone belts, the ones that debuted after WrestleMania XIV, it gave a sense that a serious change was upon the WWF. I liked the idea of each championship having a different color strap to it, the dark blue on the world title looked nice, the dark purple of the IC title looked okay, the red backings on the tag straps looked nice. However, the new world title just looked too big and bulky, and the IC title looked, and still looks, too puny.

The world tag title belts that debuted about a year ago are nice, as they have the same basic look as the belts used during the first WrestleMania, only with thicker metal, and gold instead of silver, and they have name plates on them.

I like the WWE tag title belt design, as the plates themselves have the same rough shape as the world tag title belts used until last year, although I don't like how those plates actually look, as the belts look very generic beyond the shape of them.

I never liked the "undisputed" title belt design, as it didn't quite look big enough for something that was supposed to signify the two biggest world championships of the past decade, it looked more like a secondary title. Plus, the belt didn't even have the word "undisputed" on it, it just said "World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment Champion", which, to me, devalued the title right then and there. I like how they tinkered with it though, the current version is a happy medium between the winged eagle design and the post-WM XIV design in size, and the name plate looks perfectly placed on it.

The U.S. title, however, looks like complete crap. It's tiny, the belt design itself looks gaudy, and the nameplate gets in the way of the U.S. flag on the face plate of the belt. WWE SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain made the belt bigger than it is in real life, and it actually looks pretty decent.

The women's title looks nice with the name plate on it, although it's such a generic belt that it couldn't really be hurt by the addition of it either.

The WWE cruiserweight title belt looks nice, and bears some resemblance to the WCW cruiserweight title, but it just looks kind of plain, and the name plate just seems to take up space, although with all of the wasted space on the belt, that might not be such a bad thing.

The new world heavyweight title belt, with the WWE logo on it, looks sort of okay. I like how it's shinier than it was in the past, but all of the little touches on it, like the jewels and the emblems on the face plate are seemingly gone, and it looks more like a replica belt than an official one. Also, the name plates used for it look much cheaper than those used on the belt when it was in WCW, again, very plain and generic.

Speaking about the name plates, I'm kind of against them being used for EVERY championship, as it just devalues the use of them, although given that it does add a bit of cost to making someone a champion, maybe it makes WWE think a bit harder about who wins the titles. On top of just devaluing the point of the name plates, it looks hideous on a couple of the belts, with the U.S. title being the worst offender, and the cruiserweight title belt also suffering due to one being present.

Generally I don't post until after the show is over, but I thought that I'd post about the beginning of RAW.
Mick Foley is the new Co General Manager Personally, it's good to see, but I won't get into why until more people see it (in case there are delays, people taping, etc.

Seeing Foley back was a nice, but the WWE is obssesed with having fueding general managers/co owners/ consultants whatever you wanna call it. It is so played out and boring. Worse yet Foley fires 4 Main players on Raw and Coach only to take it back under the guise that he was showing Bischoff what a prick he was being. Very poor storyline, I was actually hoping these guys would take some time off or jump to Smackdown. Even worse was having fans sign a petition to have Austin return to Raw, I can't think of a more unexciting way to have a huge superstar be brought back so soon after a angle where Austin is supposed to never be back to Raw again in any capcity. Only thing good about Raw was Stacy doing the Spinaroni and doing cartwheels. Thumbs down for me. I'd rather see Foley be used as a part time Wrestler to put over new stars than a mouthpiece.

That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Foley can actually talk, put over guys his entire career, and laid down for Trip (making Trip's career in the process) in his last two matches.

Of course he did that's why it is sad to see him doing the co manager gimmick

if they're not a part of Evolution, they ain't main players. and even more so since it was Test, Steiner, and La Resistance.

Still they have been part of the Raw roster for awhile and have had varying pushes. Anyways no matter who he pretended to fire and then bring back it is a pretty lame angle and insults the fans.

Okay, I finally have to ask - when did Ross and Lawler move from their old announce spot, and why? Their new location just makes no sense - what, did Raw become Nitro or something?

(I realize this isn't new, but I only picked back up watching recently.)

Well, shortly after the Raw/Smackdown split, both shows did a few minor things to change the shows so that they would be distincly different. One of them was moving the Raw table to the middle of the arena. Personally I hate that since I like seeing people get put through tables.

Especially when it's the Spanish announce table and I switch the audio to Spanish

Seriously, it was consistently entertaining with some pretty solid matches. Stratus/Jericho vs. Rico/Jackie and Kane/Batista/Orton vs. Goldberg/Michaels/RVD were both very good, highly watchable and the crowd was really into it.

I also :lol:ed at Foley canning Steiner, Test, La Resistance and Coach. That was awesome stuff, although I wouldn't have minded if Steiner & Test stayed gone :p

My only problem was the 'resolution' to the Christian/Jericho scheme was a bit disappointing, but the WWE bookers still have a chance to make some gold with it.

I'm betting Lita & Trish have their revenge by continuing to string the two of 'em along and not putting out, and it all builds up to a big confrontation. Then in the final big payoff, one of the guys reveals their feeling as genuine and turns face. Were I to choose, Jericho would be better for it.

I love Jericho as a heel, he has great heel charisma, but, man, the guy has been a heel since August or September of 2001 or something, and that's a fuggin' ETERNITY! Raw is badly in need of more upper-mid or top card faces right now and Jericho is a perfect choice. They really need to conclude this angle with either one of the guys going face or one of the ladies going heel, or what was the point?

Stacy dressed as a schoolgirl = greatest RAW ever! :) hehe... seriously, after that, I barely watched it anymore.

Raw ruled tonight. So many great moments, and nothing was all that bad. I actually enjoyed Foley not firing the guys, as it proved a point and his stuff with La Resistance could easily lead to a face turn for either of them. I can imagine them doing like Duggan and Volkoff and singing the national anthem before matches, which would be quite funny.

I was hoping after Foley fired them, they would proceed to beat the living crap out of him, leaving him further off-air with a serious leg injury. That would have made my day. :D
