Indeed, I can. I think the purple tights on Dupree could work out well with a Model-esque gimmick. Huge buttons need to see a return to wrestling, and he's got the perfect gimmick for it. I'm loving Brad$haw's gimmick, his real name is perfect for wrestling, and he looked cool dusting his suit jacket off after beating up Eddie, and then just putting it on. His "new" hair style didn't work well for the APA gimmick, but it's perfect here.
Personally I'm really digging heel Booker. Dropping his fanservice stuff and just beating the holy hell out of an opponent, makes him seem dangerous, as opposed to goofy heel Booker we saw way back when.
And Bradshaw's going to be the bastard that everyone LOVES to hate. I can dig that.
And it's about damn time Spike was in the cruiser division. He can be pretty good when not jobbing to 300 pounders. Now Hurricane needs to follow.

Every match this Smackdown was entertaining.
I think Smackdown worked because we have no idea where it's going. It was entertaining for "smart" fans but I don't see why casual fans would care.

Anyway, here's how I would book the RAW main event until Backlash:
The Benoit-Michaels main event is perfect. I'd also run an angle where Evolution is deciding whether or not to take back Triple H after he was initially so happy to be on Smackdown. That would be up in the air all month, with Evolution leaning toward taking him back at the PPV. Of course, HHH still wants his strap back.
Anyway, Orton and Flair/Batista retain at Backlash, and Benoit and Michaels are wrestling a fantastic match when HHH runs in to interfere. Before he makes it in the ring, a hooded figure jumps the rail to intercept him. It's Bret Hart, and he slaps a Sharpshooter on HHH as Michaels taps to the Crossface. Michaels leaves, and Bret and Benoit celebrate with an insane crowd.
Until Evolution's music hits, and along with a recovered HHH, they surround our heroes in the ring. HHH charges Benoit, but Orton intercepts him with an RKO. Bret is confused until Benoit slaps the crossface on him, as Evolution tears HHH to pieces. The four champs exit together, HHH and Bret lie destroyed, and the crowd wants blood.
Next RAW, we are introduced to The Four Horsemen.
That would be pretty cool.

I don't you'll see Bret become a wrestler again. Taking bumps is probably out of the question....
Smackdown was great. I think with the new roster, it will only get better. Thing is, how long until 'Taker starts well 'taking' over? I like his new gimmick again, but it's still the same guy underneath.
Guerrero deserves to stay champion until Summerslam. So does Benoit but I don't know if that will happen.
The only thing Smackdown is missing is heels. They got a new Booker T which is great and of course the Big Show who will most likely get his yearly title match next month against Guerrero but they need 1 more big bad. Bradshaw filled that but it's still Bradshaw. I say give him a new move. How many people get injured with that clothesline anyway? Maybe a powerbomb or something, now that Nash is gone.
Anyways, wrestling is looking up. Hopefully the ECW rumors happen and then Saturday Night will be unique too. ECW should be treated as SEPERATE from WWE. They should play it off through an angle where Heyman gets some talent. They go to Saturday Night and ECW starts.
The thing with the Smackdown/RAW attempt at seperate shows is we all know they are both WWE. So this way, casuals fans might actually be like 'Is that a seperate show?'
I figure if Bret would ever ever return to WWE he'd do it in Edmonton and he'd do it to put Benoit over. And I just wanna see him take a crossface, not a bump. But yes, you're right, it isn't gonna happen.

Great night of Raw, as everything was entertaining, plus, it built to the future, whether it was for the next PPV or beyond. Shelton Benjamin pinned the former heavyweight champion of the World...amazing. Great, Booker's first match on Smackdown and he has to be saved from losing. Plus, I read that he jobbed to Taker at a Smackdown house show in a 30 second match (yes, 30 seconds). Good to see he's getting a fresh start.
I really hope someone starts a "wifebeater" chant or brings a big "Austin is a wifebeater" sign at Raw next week.
BTW, I read that Austin's girlfriend who filed the complaint is 37. 37? Why is a famous guy like Austin dating an old lady? He should be dating a 20 year-old brainless supermodel or something.
Edge does a good job of looking intense and crazy, and he looks to have bulked up a tad while he was out, but you know he'll ruin it when he finally gets on the mic and starts talking in that "whitest white man that ever lived" voice he always does. He really needs a different tone of voice. Otherwise, he's awesome.
Kane is one of the biggest heels on RAW. Edge beating and fighting Kane makes him one of the biggest faces on RAW. If you want Edge to be taken seriously by the RAW fans who haven't seen him for two years you're going to have to establish his credibility.Quote:

It doesn't matter what YOU think. The fans boo and believe him as a lethal heel. That's why when Bischoff told Tajiri he's up against Kane they jeered. They haven't done a good job of keeping his image up since he lost the mask. If anything this should show you how weak the writing has been as of late.
Who else could they have picked? Aside from Evolution Kane is pretty much the next big heel on RAW.

I totally disagree. The months before Smackdown built up Jericho's feelings for Trish from a practical joke in to something stronger while Christian played the devils advocate in a way. That was the beginning of the real fued behind Christian and Jericho, not some stupid match where Trish was put in peril. She's a wrestler, getting beaten up is what she does for a living. Instead it gives Jericho and Christian a chance to start fueding over something more meaningful.Quote:

Seriously, that blatant attempt to manipulate the fans made me sick. WWF treated us like 3 year-olds.
At least they leave in unpredicted crowd reactions nowadays, like the way the crowd at that Wrestlemaina with Rock vs. Hoagn. I loved how the crowd wanted Rock to die and popped like madmen for anything Hogan did. Hopefully when won't fuck with the Brock vs. Goldberg crowd either.

Dole, yes, it's a money thing. Apparantly, WWE CAN avoid blurring the logo if they pay the Fund a huge sum of money. Why on Earth they don't do this is beyond me, as it'll be worth it in the long-run with their on-demand service and DVD releases. Voltz, to you mean the WWE-tagged classic DVD releases that have been released in the UK? I haven't read anything about them being edited.
No I was talking about re-releases in the US, like Wrestlemania 1 or the 88 summerslam.
I haven't read anything about them being released on DVD in the U.S., although if there are changes to them in the UK, they'll probably carry over to a U.S. release.
Edit- And Sean O'Haire has been released...killing the chances of a Jindrak and O'Haire reunion.

I asked some people how the ppv came off on TV and they said it was pretty loud but the DVD seems to be edited.
At least I think....
