god i hate John Cena.
Agreed Cena sucks. All-in-all I thought the Rumble this year was pretty good though.
Yep. They booked Mark Henry really well tonight, even though his match with Angle wasn't all that swell (was there really any reason for the Rumble NOT to headline?). The Royal Rumble match itself was awesome. JBL losing to Boogeyman with one move was incredibly odd and the cruiserweight match was awesome. I guess WWE's allowing their small wrestlers to actually do cruiserweight moves in order to compete with TNA a little bit.
Cena winning is trash, but I don't really care all that much. The title scene is boring on RAW and Smackdown. People dislike him because they can tell he's a huge phony. I was surprised to hear the crowd chanting for Cena up and until he did his typical clothesline-shoulderblock-clothesline-spinning powerbomb-five knuckle shuffle-FU finish.
lawl at the Opening Match of a House Show Main Event.
Attended the show and...
Great Royal Rumble. Sort of depressing Orlando didn't get much of a push (the audience's reaction to his entrance was indifferent at best and he's from Miami...where the RR took place).
I got the idea that they were pressed for time in the last two matches. Because the thing ended just before 11:00 and the final matches were terribly rushed.
And Eddiefied Rey or not anything is better than John "three moves" Cena.
The guy in front of me was great though. He kept complaining about how the WWE never had a black world champion.
First live show I ever attended, even though Miami is the worst city on earth I had loads of fun. And I got to see the Money Dance..so I'm happy.
Great rumble... and I should clean up on Fantasy. Guess who had Mysterio and Cena. Yes boys, the champion is here to stay.
yea, i'm not getting ANY points this week since i signed up incredibly late. i had Cena, Rey and Angle on my roster, too. :( i'm pretty sure Orton and Shelton got a good chunk of points as well.
Emory Hale (WCW SN regular in '99 and '00 and "XWF World" champion) passed away today. He suffered kidney failure a few years ago, and I guess this was related to that. He was on a short list of opponents Hogan wanted to face in '02 after WCW folded. Also, Mark Madden suffered a heart attack.
lol at MitB. looks like they really had to just use it up. lot of rumors they took the title from Cena because he was starting to get boo's, but i still think it would have been more beneficial to have whoever he's facing at WM to beat him (IF he's going to loose at WM) after a year long stint as champ. especially if Rey might be jumping over to Raw.
lol at Edge. he'll become the jobber he's always been (just not in the best time slot) and get into a Feud with Flair. hopefully this means less mic time for Lita.
LOL you were in last place before the rumble, don't think those two are going to cement shit for you.Quote:

RAW should be awesome.
I love Cenas new entrance.
The cruiser match was a lot of fun.
The Rumble was unpredictable for the first time in like, ever.
Why didn't Orton call in his favor?
Who's HHH gonna fight next?
Also, at Korly's gf's house we decided that Ratings didn't go up for Edge, but rather for Lita's tits. Which aren't that impressive to begin with.
LOL At Edge, defended the title twice, once to a 50+ year old man in a match he's never been in, and then at RR. This makes Edge look HORRIBLE, the only way he won the belt was after Cena was decimated at NYR, then he fought a grandfather, then lost it.
gg.
And way to go Matt Hardy, Lita fucks your life up, you decide to be a sport and make some money with Vince, Edge beats your face into jobbers obscurity, and the crowning moment of your life is getting your shit pushed in by Vis at the rumble.
Slit your wrists dude.
For everyone living in the MD area, you should know that MCW is returning on 2-26.
The main even has just been signed in a dream match between Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong. According to my ROH freak of a friend they haven't even done that match in ROH yet! Should be awesome.
Also, we'll have The James Gang, Axl Rotten, Crowbar, Danny Doring, Blue Meanie, and a bunch of the local MD guys like Julio Dinero, The Bruiser, The Holy Rollers, etc.

i still have no points posted for fantasy :(
They'll probably show up around 4pm.
I only have a few ideas for my picks tonight... AUGH!
i have no points at all, didnt you guys get your raw and sd points before the weekend? im ranked with 0 points.Quote:

Just watched the Rumble. Fucking JBL was squashed by the fucking Boogeyman? WTF!
Nice to see RVD back.
Rey winning The Rumble was unexpected but cool. But why was the asshole so happy to draw #2?
Edge losing the belt = teh suck.
Mark Henry getting a PPV title shot = LOL
Man, 'Taker sucks.
Fixed.Quote:

Kudos for finally pushing Helms...
Since when is winning the Cruiserweight belt considered a push?
And I also disagree with Flair getting the belt. He's perhaps the greatest ever but he's been pushed as a chump for far too long. He should be putting young guys like Edge over at this point. Or better yet, retiring altogether before he spends his twilight years in a wheelchair.
Glad you fixed your quote. I didn't know what "Mark Henry getting = LOL" was supposed to mean.Quote:

Better than jobbing without some gold, I'd imagine. I don't really watch all that much, so I'm a little off on worth of belts and such.Quote:

This was a LOT closer than I expected. I thought I'd be screwed in the rankings, but I'm only 10 points away from first. Chux is only 2 points away from first, and I'm only 1 point ahead of Avatar.
Nights like this are always the hardest ones to pick Fantasy for. We don't really know who's gonna wrestle, and we don't really know which new storylines are gonna start.
Which one is supposed to turn? I can't see fans getting behind either guy as a face.Quote:

also i see no way the edge/cena match will end without a dq or run in. something big should start tonight from that match. probably HHH running in to beat down Cena.
just noticed this. could be a lot of run in's for both shows.
"Tonight, WWE are doing a double taping Orlando, due to the SmackDown wrestlers leaving for the tour of Thailand and Japan.
Announced for tonight on the RAW brand is Edge getting a rematch against John Cena tonight for the WWE Championship. Kane and The Big Show are scheduled to defend the tag titles against Carlito and Chris Masters. Triple H is also expected to do a promo.
On SmackDown, they are questioning which title Rey Mysterio will choose to go after at WrestleMania. What Kurt Angle will say in response to Undertaker's challenge for the World Title. For those who missed t, it has already been announced that Kurt Angle will be defending his title against The Undertaker at No Way Out. Also being questioned is what Helms winning the Cruiserweight Title will mean to the SmackDown Cruiserweights. "
HHH is probably going to interfere tonight with Cena and Edge, causing a 3way main event at Mania.
a 3 way would be so dumb. edge needs to be put back at the bottom where he belongs.
and what i don't get is why this time, HHH just has been coming out saying he'll win the rumble and win at WM. every other champ he's always been on their ass, always interfering.....always there. with Cena he's been non-existant. i know they're still big on Cena being the #1 merchandise seller atm, but it's just weird how "away" they've kept him.
"WWE trademarked the name "Armando Alejandro Estrada" last week. OVW wrestler Osama Rodrigues Alejandro will be using that name when he eventually gets called up to the main WWE roster. His gimmick will be loosely based on Fidel Castro as he will have a Latin American dictator character."
good god.........
Because Hassan was over CRAZY, right?
exactly my point ;)
Hassan was an awesome heel. The network literally had to remove him from television. Although I don't think Cuba has as much resound with today's audience as it would have in the 70's.
I guess i really DID have a few picks made for this week after all. Good shit. I picked Finlay and Carlito because they've been the most amusing wrestlers in the WWE for me. I think that's how I'm going to play fantasy this round. I'll just pick guys that I like. I was going to pick RVD this Monday instead of Trish but it was past 7:00 so I couldn't. Next week, mebbe.
Jonas is going down this round. I wish I could somehow sacrifice all of my points to take him down.
Carlito is way better than Masters. I quite frankly don't think I even want a Carlito - Masters feud anyway. It'll probably end up being Carlito - RVD right now.Quote:
i could see carlito more as a half face better than masters. then again its seemed like the crowd has been getting behind masters lately and that he's slowly, but surely loosing his "arrogance".
oh i don't doubt carlito is better than masters. it just seems to me like the crowd is siding more with Masters at this moment. i agree a masters/carlito feud is kind of weird but i guess it HAS been brewing since the Elimination Chamber match. i'm just really trying to wrap who they'll lump RVD with.........hard to tell.
i steered clear of HHH, since it's been reported he'll have "a very long promo" which for him is like 20 minutes. he'll bitch and moan, say the king is back and not have a match. he may have the run in during the title match (i dont see it ending clean at all) but there wouldnt be many points for just a run in.
RVD eliminated Carlito (by some stupid ass spin kick too) and Carlito attacked RVD a couple of months back when he came out to the Cabana for an interview. I think it's safe to assume Carlito and RVD will be working together quite often in the near future.
this is true (well the cabana part, i didnt get to watch the rumble), but the WWE has mysteriously dropped soon to be angles for no reason before.Quote:

Way to bring RVD back, WWE. Put him against Snitsky... ugh.
lawl. All of the losers have their intros during unlimited. It's a fact.
See, told you.
I'm I the only one who was thinking there was close to 80 pounds of breast in the ring during the Trish/Mickie/Ashley promo?
Fucking awesome.
Oh and hooray for me for not being completely blown away in fantasy.
So, Jonas, forget to switch rosters?
that ending seemed so botched. shouldn't Edge have been DQ'd?
anyway, anybody notice this?
"Last year Guerrero and Flair respectively pick their numbers, 1 and 30. They were the first two guys that got to pick their number before the rest did. This year however, Triple H and Randy Orton were the first to pick their numbers, and they both got 1 and 30. It's kind of ironic? "
Edge was hit, why would he be disqualified? Have you suddenly forgotten the rules or something? Whenever someone comes down and attacks a wrestler, that wrestler automatically wins by DQ.
Obviously she did it because Edge was about to be beaten and now he gets another rematch.
He told me he didn't need to change anything, so he didn't.Quote:

I doubt Rey would have won the Rumble if Eddy were still alive today. I don't mind them pushing Rey Jr. because he is a legitimate talent, but Chavo can't even do a good looking frogsplash but continues to use it as his finisher.
On that same point, Rey "thanking" Eddy for "watching over him" when he chose his number in the Rumble was lame too, unless Eddy faked his own death and became a WWE booker.Quote:

too late for me. i work at 6am.
LOL. What a stupid timeslot to give them, but maybe it'll work out. I mean, they're probably expecting 1.0's in that timeslot or greater, and leading in to UFC is a good idea. Not to mention that the majority of UFC/TNA block fans probably aren't extremely interested in Smallville.
We'll see. If this was last season, I'd watch wrestling, but now shit like Wrestlemania, or whatever TNA's big deal PPV could come on Thursday nights at 8, and I'd still watch Smallville.
Just an FYI, the Samoa Joe-AJ Styles classic from Turning Pont '05 is now available for free via Comcast on demand. I watched it, and was "ooh"ing during every kicking spot, and cringing during the spinning powerbomb against the rail.
possible wrestlemania spoilers
Source: PWTorch Newsletter
This year's WrestleMania will feature five main matches. These matches, according to insiders, will be: John Cena vs. Triple H, Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton, The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry, Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon, and Edge vs. Mick Foley.
The storyline between Mick Foley and Edge may be triggered by Foley mocking Edge for being a "transitional champion."
With Mysterio winning the Royal Rumble this line up could be changed, otherwise look for him to lose his title shot between now and Mania."
now the rey thing might make sense if you look back at my previous post saying the rumble winner wouldnt be at wrestlemania. hhh has been bad mouthing him. i see rey going to raw and putting his wrestlemania appearance on the line against hhh. something to the effect of hhh badmouthing eddie so much that ray will do it out of respect. but where will he loose it? there isn't a march raw ppv. the only thing left is the february smackdown one. hmmmmmmm.
No, Randy Orton will probably steal it from him somehow. That's my guess seeing as they were the last two men in the rumble and Orton had Rey down and out until the last 2 seconds before Rey hurnacanrana'd his ass over the ropes. The feud builds itself.
I think from now on I'm going to make all of my posts in spoiler tags to give off a sense of mystery. It'll be my thing, and we'll all love it. Especially Chux. He'll fucking love it so damn much.
Wrestling has really gone down the shitter over the past few years. I miss classic 80's wrestling. Now it's just garbage.
Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?
I'm watching "OH HULK, OH HULK" "FEEL THE EYE OF THE HULKSTER GENO!" "UH, UH, UH, HULK, I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE! "C'MON GENO, JUST ONE MORE!"
Also watching - Samoa Joe face wash the '80s.
okay so i posted spoiler tags. last time i didnt everyone bitched.
spoiler tags are the rage.
and Jeremy is gay. he watches Hulk Hogan porn.
FAG!
Hogan Knows Best has been on a hell of a lot lately.
We don't get VH1 up here, thank god.
WWE just announced these DVDs on their site -
WWE has announced a list of upcoming DVDs to look for on store shelves in the coming months. In addition to the upcoming pay-per-view DVDs, the list includes:
* Austin vs. McMahon: The Definitive Collection
* Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon
* Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology
* Born to Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story
* The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA
* John Cena: The Time is Now
* The World's Greatest Wrestling Managers
* The American Dream: The Dusty Rhodes Story (2-disc)
I'll definitely be getting all of these at some point. Austin-McMahon is last on the priority list, while the Pillman, Piper, Hogan, and managers sets are way up there. The Hogan set should give us more of his coked-out '80s promos, and those are always great to have on DVD.
You're going to buy the John Cena set?
I may buy the Brian Pillman set if I feel like it, but WWE shouldn't hold their breath.
I forgot about that one. I doubt I'll buy it, but since nothing is announced to be on it, I'll say that if it's cheap and has his best matches on it, I'll get it for a cheap price.
I want a Savage dvd.
As do I, but he's nuttier than Warrior, so WWE doesn't want to do anything about him, or with him. Plus, he now looks like Santa's anorexic brother. They've got some great titles to work with if they do one without him. "Madness: the Randy Savage Store" "Snap Into the Steroids" "Randy Savage: the BE A MAN, HOGAN! Story". Realistically though, the WM Anthology knocked out some key Savage matches (WM III's classic, V's classic, VII's classic, VIII's great match), while the Wrestling Gold set took care of most of the Memphis stuff.
I don't know who owns the ICW library, but that could be a nice thing to use for a Savage DVD, or just a general DVD, given the history behind it. I would imagine that Savage's family owns it, so maybe we'll see him get a DVD of his own making, ala Molly Holly. God, how much of a crime is it that Molly friggin' Holly has her own DVD, and Randy Savage doesn't? Same with Mr. Perfect.
On an unrelated note, here's a TNA tag I made today in 25 to Life.

Both of these are gonna suck if they don't go heavy on the WCW footage.Quote:

Correction, Liger VERSUS Flyin' Brian FTW. Bonus points if they put his "Blondes Have More Fun" theme on the disc. Anyways, Impact was fun, yet underwhelming tonight. The press conference was just terrible, and the tag title tourney seems thrown together. I do like that it quickly pays off the 3D-Canada match decision, and gives other teams something to do.
Larry sounded less like a whining old Jewish woman than usual, which is both a good and bad thing. EY ruled. Any show that ends with him facing the camera and going nuts is a thumbs up. Plus, Gen Next placed themselves in a main event program. God bless the Shelley cam. I'm not quite sure what to think of Aries' new attire. It's like Rob Conway, Jesse Ventura, and Arian Adonis came up with a gimmick and threw it into Duggan's dildo blender with this as the end result. Ashen, it wasn't Hulk Hogan porn. He was just "training" REALLY INTENSELY with Mean Gene.
Molly Holly has her own?
Yeah, it's called "Nora Greenwald: Shooting the Shi... Crap".
Who the fuck is EY?
I caught some of Impact!. It was okay, nothing special. One problem is that they didn't really make a lot of progress with the Sting angle, and the press conference was obviously terribly staged. Larry Zbysko shouldn't be allowed on television. He has no personality.
Christian Cage is being misused in TNA. All of a sudden Monty Brown is upset with Jarrett now. I'm not sure what to make of any of these storylines. Atleast the actual in-ring action was pretty decent tonight, although I'm not sure LAX squashing some guy with the surname STEEL and two other equally obscure jobbers is really a prudent use of time.
A typical stable / tag match in TNA consists of a squash match and then a run-in by the opposing tag team thirty seconds after the match ends. TNA needs Paul Heyman. I'd be offering Heyman a 300,000 contract before I'd offer Jericho one.
EY is Eric Young, that's been his nickname for a while now.
I don't really know any of the Canadian guys other than Petey Williams (because he's actually a good wrestler). I wish they'd end this Team Canada bullshit. WWE has creative license over beating that dead horse. The UnAmericans, Canadians, Those two frenchies (not La Resistance either), La Resistance too, The Hart Foundation. Not to mention the original Team Canada from WCW which they now own.
If TNA didn't have their X division talent the federation would be sunk by now.
True, but they do have the X division, and they've been pretty smart iwth it. In some surprising news, Kanyon came out of the closet.
Konnan's on WOL tonight, and he's rightfully taking Vince to task for the shit on SD. "One day he's gonna get a double barrel of karma, and I don't wanna be within two continents when it happens". Right on. On Apolo - His mic skills are atrocious and his business acumen is even worse. Gotta love the honesty. Now he's talking how close Randy Orton was to Eddie, and that he knows he didn't like saying what he had to be said on SD. Konnan also needs hip replacement and shoulder surgeries. Now a fan is giving Konnan shit for being opinionated, and he gets cut off. Awesome stuff.
Now for some negative stuff, it looks like the ECW Bloodsport DVD set is botched - http://board.deathvalleydriver.com/i...howtopic=10384
