I always thought that the DKC games were extremely weak. I never understood the hype. I know everyone went berzerk over the graphics, but the gameplay was garbage.

No. I hate the prerendered look, and the gameplay was never good. 16-bit graphics whores overhyped the hell out of that series.

Agreed.

But I wont be joining that. I dug DKC big time back then, though the ACM fancy didnt last long (I even wrote a letter to NP about it, complaining that they were hyping these games as the best ever just because of ACM). KI was trash and I didnt buy any DKC sequels.

edit: I remember this movie, it got mailed out to me and I had it as recent as 3 or 4 years ago.

I actually liked Killer Instinct for the same reasons as Smash bros. It was just mindless fun. It wasn't winning any fighter of the year awards or anything, but it was fun.

I remember that video. The quick flash of Killer Instinct at the end was the best part of the video. I was like 13 or 14 years old, of course DKC rocked my face off.
