I did phrase it oddly (welcome to my posts), but altering the meaning of The Bible to shun the use of curse words almost exclusively is bending the interpretation to fit societal demands.Quote:

Well, no. There ws that whole incident with God nuking a town over it. The Bible is clearly not pro-homosexual.Quote:

Personal experience and the testimony of hundreds tells me and millions of others otherwise.Quote:

You can still believe in the Christian God, and in the basic ideas of Jesus, and understand that the Bible isn't hard fact and might have some of the basics wrong.
Granted, however, there are things written, particulary in the book of Hebrews, that were specific to the culture and time that they written and have no bearing on modern day dealings.
Ultimately it makes no difference, though. Even if one were to read the Bible from cover to cover and have an expert explain everything to you, one would never understand it unless they were granted understanding by the Holy Spirit. Asking for that understanding would be simple enough, but this would be an act of faith and acknowledgement of a Being which you believe does not exist. Understanding would never come until a decision was made to believe.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Let not that man suppose he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." James 1:4-8
Haven't met any. If you know some send 'em my way.Quote:

You are absolutely correct, save for the eternal grace of God.Quote:

I was just thinking, though. Doesn't this thing go against the first line of the first Amendment?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
Oooooh. Okay.
Anyway, i feel better now, and i can't argue with the eternal grace of God thing. While we're at it, colleges suck. It sucks that a lot of them cost so damn much.
