...:|...dude...wow...
Is that that 9/11 sound clip? Crazy shit if it is :(
If only they'd had the apparatuses...
I played it in my room and my roommate went batshit crazy. I really did have to hold in my laughing towards him and just say shut the fuck up.
I'd imagine when his scream was cut off, he must have been squashed flat at that very instant.
Why was he going nuts? Did he know somebody in that?Quote:

They mostly found dust in the wreckage, didn't they?
We both live in NYC, so there's a chance. I know plenty of people that died/were in the building when it hit, but I haven't shed a tear over 9/11 in some four years now. Time to get over it.Quote:

Your roommates a pussy, Rich.
Yea that's why I was kind of speechless, just picturing it. It's gut-wrenching.Quote:

LOL. No joke. It's time for a big change. Past time for the most part.Quote:

It especially sucks that he was leaving the office when that happened.
Its sad. I know we all have to get over it, but the sad thing is we never heard the tapes. We knew people were taling to 911 operators the whole time, but this was like ... puts it all in perspective.
Yea, I guess this to us is almost like the Vietnam footage and what not back in the 60s and 70s that kept all the protesting going. I've heard some of the calls on the news during specials and stuff, but I haven't heard one that continues to the person's last words when the building fell.
Why would you laugh at him?Quote:

I felt bad for her more just because the guy was an asshole about it. I realize he's scared and all but bitching over and over to her that it doesn't feel like people are coming isn't doing anything except making someone that currently can't do shit feel worse. I suppose part of that is the dark humor that people complain the same way when they're dying that they do in a retail store because they aren't getting service fast enough for a $2 item.Quote:

Yea you're right, but I'm sure I'd freak out a little too given the situation. But nonetheless it was rough both ways.
Because he was acting like a total fucking idiot, and screaming at the top of his lungs.Quote:

He accomplished absolutely nothing during that entire exchange, and that's counting even if the building never collapsed and they were gotten out safely. He told them where they were, what was going on, and that's all he needed to do besides remaining on the line for whenever they needed more information. He may be upset that they hadn't gotten there yet, but that doesn't change the fact that help was already on the way and no amount of telling people you have a family will make them appear faster. Bitching to someone who is not the person on the way will not make the other group mystically teleport to your location, and even if that was one of the firefighters it still wouldn't give them mystical properties.Quote:

Nevertheless, I'm always going to feel worse about the family and other people involved. The guy's dead. If you believe there is no afterlife then it doesn't matter at all, and if you believe there is many religions consider it a better place than this or he'll return here anyway most likely having no immediate recollection of what happened (and if there's a form of hell and he ended up in it then all the more reason to not feel sorry for him). It's the people that are still alive that you should care about, his dead body doesn't give two shits who you feel bad about.
Thread idea!Quote:

Hey, glad to hear you've moved on and yeah, your friend should not have stayed when you played it. But let me get this straight: You and your friend play a media clip of a man about to die a grisly death. This understandably would upset some folks more than others. And now, you're posturing on an internet forum over how "tough" you are because you're annoyed he startled you when he started screaming loudly? haha Wow. Just wow. Get over yourself, kid.Quote:

I think if I were in his situation, I would have been yelling my head off at the operator, too. She did a great job in dealing with him and I can't imagine how bad it must have been at the end when the tower collapsed. No matter how much she may or may not have liked her job, that had to be the absolute worst feeling.Quote:

Anybody laughing at this, acting tough about it, or posturing on what whomever should have done is an ignoramus.
We are all very impressed. :rolleyes:Quote:

He just happened to stand behind me and watch, and I even said "chris...you probably shouldn't watch this," since I know he can't handle 9/11 shit.
Thing I have learned- never rag on someone for how they treat their roommate. Unless you want to live with these people for a few months to really understand the dynamic between them. It's almost like marriage, except no sex and less incentive to get along.
Very disturbing clip. I wonder how long he lived? Was he on one of the floors that stayed intact most of the way down or did he get crushed instantly. Brrr...
James
Oh, we're definitely like a married couple, because we were best friends at home before we came to school. I'd come close to taking a bullet for him, but that doesn't make him any less of a pussy when it comes to things like this...and he didn't even fuck the girl last night when i left the room for him.Quote:
