I got condemned a few days ago, and I have mixed opinions. The graphics, quite honestly, aren't very good (compared to HL2, FarCry, Fear-ish stuff), and it nevertheless managed to lag my computer a considerable amount.
Also, the forensics are kinda lame...
On the plus side, though, the gameplay was fun, the fights were interesting, the AI's decent until it tries to 'hide' from you, and the variety of weapons is awesome.
Have any of you guys tried this or played the demo?

The graphics look pretty sharp (although not mindblowing) on the 360 rev, and it doesn't lag. Great creepy atmosphere and sound effects, and mostly fun fights as you said, but I was eventually put off by the ridiculously dark levels -- 4 levels of groping around and I had enough. Maybe I'll go back just to unlock some more Achievements, which may be the most evil creation in videogame history.

Prince, have you ever gone into the brightness options of game and calibrated your TV's settings? In most games they give you a useful scale so you can get your TV's settings as close to the optimum as possible. I don't think you'd be one to overlook something like that, but if you've never messed with your TV's video settings, it makes a huge difference.
Also, Condemned is good.

I played a good chunk of this game (awaiting a review copy, still) and I like it a whole lot. The combat is really satisfying. The mechanics are simple (as they are in a FPS as well) but the enemies are smart. They're great at sneaking up up on you, faking you out, etc. The taser is a bit cheap, though. They should have decreased the damage it deals.
I kinda don't mind that it's just a corridor crawler. FEAR was the same way. The forensics tools might come off like a halfassed adventure element, but I really think it's just a way to tie the story into the gameplay. The atmosphere is really effective. It scared the crap out of me. Condemned has a way of never letting you be sure you're alone, and it keeps you very edgy.
My one gripe is that the canned/artificial way you can interact with the level really hurts the immersion. Like to knock down a door with the fire axe you walk up to it and line things up until you see the "Use Fire Axe" icon and then hit the button to execute, but if you just walk up to the door and hit it with the axe, you get nothing. Sometimes you can walk up to an obstruction and "Move Object" or "Climb Over" will appear, but in other situations where it seems like the same thing would be possible you can't. I'm not saying you need to let me smash through walls with the sledgehammer (though that would be cool), but if I hit a lightbulb with a sledge it ought to go out or something. Shit.
But yeah, over all it really seems like an ace effort to me. The action and the atmosphere are both top-notch, and that seems to be the focus. I'll have to see if the ending lets me down or not.
