Then you could go on and say games based on regular movies, and animes based on games.... it's not uncommon for things based on something else to suck. Most license tie ins are cash ins, so it's kind of pointless to try and see what's the "worst of the worst."
This is a pointless exercise, it's which shit smells better. It doesn't matter...It's still shit.

There's plenty of bad ones, yeah, but at least some good ones exist. The same can't be said of VG-based movies (although I haven't seen Silent Hill yet).
A much closer competition would be "Movies based on Games vs. Anime based on Games" or "Games based on Movies vs. Games based on Anime".
ive always wanted to play Gunnm for the playstation.
Games based on movies wins hands down over anime because it has GoldenEye and Chronicles of Riddick while anime has.......

I also didn't think the PS2 GitS game was nearly as bad as it was made out to be.
I liked the movie doom, hell its even got lots of great sound clips that I wanna sample later on too.
I really liked the psx GiTS game too, hell I'm even enjoying the psp game also.
