Man I wanted to like both Culdcept and Baten Kaitos. They initially seemed like they were tailor created to stuff that I'd love...

Too bad Culdcept feels way too much like Monopoly with its random movement around the board stuff and Baten Kaitos battle system was flawed and waaay too slow. :(

I'm excited for this Marvel card game though, some of that really exaggerated art is slick.

Well, the good news is, it's got infrastructure mode, and a fairly deep set of online options to boot. Some might even like this:

But to me, it smacks of EA. It might be better if you could take any cards that you own in real life, and convert them into the game.

The graphics in those screen shots I posted a year ago look great, but they didn't translate well at all to the PSP. They look really low-res and washed out. Except for the cutscenes which actually look pretty good.

Now, I just got through the first 3 tutorials and into my first battle so obviously I don't have the hang of the gameplay yet, so I'll comment on that later.

Also, it was only 30 bucks! But I can't help but think that this woulda been 10 times better on XBLA or even PS2, so we could more easily admire the artwork.

I was kinda sorta interested in this.

Also, I just started playing Baten Kaitos and to say the battle system is slow confuses me. I thought it was great. Of course the last game I played that used cards was PSO 3. So there is that.

Well snails move at the speed of light compared to PSO3.

true, but BK has a timing system, so if you take to long choosing your cards you either miss out on extra attacks or don't get to defend against an attack.
Both of which has happened to me. It really does move along pretty quickly.

Still waiting for the PC or DS version. If anyone has any strategy or gameplay questions I can probably help (I played on the tournament circuit the first year Vs. was out). For new players I would recommend building a New Brotherhood deck (use 4x New Brotherhood and lots of beefy low drops, burn cards like Pyro, and Genosha to blow up resources when you get to 5). 4-drop Sabertooth is the key to New Brotherhood with his obscene 11 attack, you need 4 of him in the deck to really make it work. It's a fun deck with a basic approach (roid out your characters and blitz with them immediately).

EDIT: Wasn't there supposed to be a version coming out for DS? What happened to that?

So is the PC version out yet? Or just the PSP version?
