I'm so torn on this. I love the art style but it sucks that the gameplay sounds disappointing.
Games like that piss me off. Saga Frontier 2's watercolor visuals were mindblowing but the actual game made me want to snap the CD in half.

Saga Frontier 2 is retarded and unplayable. Touch Detective is an unambitious graphic adventure you can play mindlessly for a while.
The game's Japanese website might be suggesting a sequel:

Picked this up after Christmas and want to try it after Castlevania and finishing up Contact. *-neo
Is this game worth $14.99?
I haven't played part 2 but part 1 was most definitely worth playing as long as you like games of the point and click variety. It has quirky humor and a silly story but I found it really fun.
I didn't care for the first game at all. Nothing besides the art stood out for me. I would rather play a DS adventure like Trace Memory.
I just got finished playing the first one. And it was ok was nothing special. The story kinda seemed to kiddy and weird. I wanna play the second one, but I wonder if it's more of the same.
Oh please, in the name of all that is holy, do not buy this game.
I read the negative reviews. Then I thought, "Well, maybe they just don't like point-and-click adventures like I do."
Well, the critical panning was most justified. I just finished barreling through this pig of a game, and I'm a much worse person for it. The pure, concentrated stupidity that went into its creation has shattered my soul in an indescribable manner.
Give solid examples or GTFO.
The constant pixel-hunting wasn't enough for ya? This wasn't just a one-time or two-time occurrence, mind you. The nonsensical nature of the puzzles made the game more of a chore than a mystery.
This issue is only compounded by the fact that the game's music and art direction were excellent. It would be one thing if the game had sucked outright, but it seems more of a tragedy that the entire experience could have been something extremely special, if not for the absolutely horrible gameplay.
