Waitresses don't get robbed at gunpoint outside of strange peoples' homes that often. A couple creeps trying to get their number and some irate-beyond-reason customers aren't quite as bad as that, no. You think carrying some plates out of the kitchen is harder than driving food across town all night?

For the record, I've never been one, but I'd never even consider taking the job. A bunch of friends of mine have done it and the horror stories are insane. The people who are doing it and doing it well deserve every cent of that tip.

When I worked at the supermarket, every now and then an old lady would give me a couple of quarters for helping her with her stuff, hah. Kind of amused me because I never expected anything from anybody. It was very rare that anyone would request help with groceries.

How many other black people than Cosby are being really vocal and public about the black community's problems? Not enough. The point is that all the media ever focuses on is what blacks are doing wrong, and it gets old. By statistics I should be locked up by now, have 4 kids, and dropped out of high school, and I"m far from that stupid stereotype as well as the rest of my family and friends.

Thats why I'm tired of hearing this shit. Seeing how Blacks are a minority, if a large sum of them get locked up or even a small amount , it looks like alot more compared to others.

The things Cosby preachers is preached to people everyday by various people, him doing so doesn't make it special to me. Not saying I ignor anything he does, its good that he's doing it, but I'm not going to down grade my race or culture because some guy see's bad things. Let look at all the BS other races put out as well if we are gonna go down that rout.

Things don't work like that. Minority means fewer than whatever is considered to be the majority. If there are fewer black people in an area and they comit just as many crimes as white people per the ratio to their own respected group, then it should seem like black people are commiting a lot fewer crimes.

If we have 100 white people and 10 black people in a group, and only 10% commit crime, then you have 10 evil white guys and 1 evil black guy.

So no, if all things are equal, if even a small amount of black guys get locked up, it does not look like alot when compared to others.

You're right, it is petty. That's why soon I'm getting out of delivery, it's not worth the risk now in my life so some assbag can get his shit faster. But you also seem to think that was actually the point of my post, I was actually trying to point out what seems to me to be an imbalance in society these days where if I make a delivery to a black guy and he stiffs me and I say "Damn cheap skate, don't ever call us again" he's gonna turn around and assume that I'm a racist little shit. If I say the same thing to some white trash redneck (although drunk rednecks usually tip well) or some guy living in a 600k house they won't care. Race won't enter into it. Which in today's day and age make it seem like we can't even criticize (constructively or not) blacks because that makes us racist.

But to talk briefly about tipping delivery peeps, we put ourselves in a LOT of danger generally by driving very fast either thru traffic or down dark roads, being at risk of robbery or traffic citations, risking hitting stupid people wearing black late at night, as well as general wear and tear on cars + gas and because it is a service based job where speed is helpful and some other generic issues such as it being socially expected that you'll tip.

I mean, I'm gonna do all the above to bring some one 25+ bucks worth of pizza (which depending on specials and such can become very heavy) + maybe some 2 liters up 3 flights of stairs, 6 miles away in heavy rush hour traffic as quickly as possible and get a buck fifty for my all this? Fuck that tip that's less than 10% which is actually insulting. Luckly this doesn't happen TOO OFTEN, but it does. So sheesh, if we're gonna be happy with a 2.75 tip why is it so damn hard for us to get it from some people?

Oddly enough my best tip ever came from a drunk Hispanic man (probably one of Florida's underpaid/appreciated farm workers) of 20 bucks. Generally, rich white peeps over all tip the worst but always at least tip something. It's a total crap shoot with blacks where you either get like 3~5 bucks or literally nothing with like 3/4 odds against you getting the good tip, Hispanic and regular white peeps tip the best generally, Asian people in the UCF area however seem pizza adverse and I've only made like 3 Asian people deliveries in like 2 years of driving.

Asians rule.

I don't get tipping at all. Why should you pay someone extra just for doing their job? Does a guy working in an office not deserve extra money just for doing his job? Who's to say whether its easier or harder? Its just not customary here, a simple thanks is fine. Risks and deterrences for jobs are factored into the wages they offer.

I'm not sure where you live, but where I live, almost everybody still tips for pizza. Maybe you just know a lot of bad people.
