Atlus at E3

Touch Detectives is italics rad though. This stuff is spread about TNL, but most of the games do not have their own thread.

DS-

Deep Labrynth- Real time first person combant and such. Ugly as shit, but with scenario design by Masatou Kataou of Chrono Trigger and it has music by Yasunori Mitsuda. It's a cell phone to DS port, oddly enough. I don't know what to expect from it, but i'm curious.

Yggdra Labrynth- Yggdra Union+Deep Labrynth. Not really. No one seems to be talking about it much, and it came out of nowhere. It has something to do with drawing the dungeon itself. Beyond that, i can't find any information.

GBA-

Summon Night 1 and 2 for GBA- Supposedly these are coming out this summer, but no one's really talking about them. Um. Rpg's... with battles like the Tales games? I don't even know. They have cute character designs. It's nice to see something like this brought over. If we're lucky and more than me and two other people buy them, we might see the PS2 games.

B-Daman- Shooting balls robots and stuff. It has some cute character designs too, but i give a shit about the series. The toys were on clearance at Target last week, so i'm not even expecting a US crowd to be interested. I hope someone is.

PS2-

Persona 3- Discussed in its own thread, but still very yes. Kids will be shooting themselves this- whenever it comes out!

Devil Summoner- Another barely confirmed title. The Atlus site needs to be updated.

Rule of Rose- Um. Horror, i guess. Looks interesting.

Odin Sphere- Princess Crown 2. pls someone put some pictures up. Want to see.

Atlus' site doesn't even update this stuff, and it's just scattered in random places about teh internets. This is the year that they don't close down. Please don't die, Atlus.

It is ugly as hell, but I love the talent involved and I'm a sucker for first person dungeon crawlers. I'm very happy that it's coming out over here.

Man, Atlus is so great!

They're going to make the inanimate object My DS really happy in the next couple of months, and the inanimate object My Wallet pretty distressed.

I'm grabbing the Atlus press stuff right now, so I'll see what is in there. I know there's supposed to be a longer P2 trailer coming out, but I don't think they've released it yet. As far as PC2, I'm trying to get the DVD Atlus has for their meetings, which has the preview video on it.

Don't forget the useless video they had for Trauma Center. Much as I can't wait for that game, the video was amazingly uninformative.

Kinda the same for me, cept then I cry cause I haven't seena double jump book since what, Genji? I really dug those things, and they seemed like perfect matches for Atlus.

Seriously though, Yggdra Union is something that I've been wanting for a while, and just when I was about to give up hope, Atlus comes along and gives it to me. Can't wait for that one. Atlus is like Working Designs, but with better taste and more respect for thier games.

Geez, I've been rejected more times in the past couple years than I care to remember. There are 10 unlocalized imports sitting on my shelf, not including some more I might've tried if they made it into English. Atlus does what it can, but that doesn't mean they should be worshipped. Try to keep a level head.

Anyway, I want to see some pics of PC2, too.

Games from Banpresto, Namco, Nippon Ichi, and Red Entertainment. That's kind of my point. Atlus can strike a deal with some companies (SCEI, Success, Spike, Sting, Irem, etc) and then run off a glut of stuff. Their magic wand has limits.

But Summon Nights is Banpy. Atlus loves you, Red. They want to give you your steam powered robots with dating sims so much. Remember Thousand Arms? Remember Rhapsody? Even then, Atlus was reaching out to you, pleading that you'd be its friend. The sales of both games together gave them the nickle they needed to make that call to ask you to give the go ahead for Sakura Taisen, but you never answered the phone. And Shidoshi, it's Persona 3. GAHD.

Rama- It's on their site, but i think SRT is July and Yggdra is October.

That was written in a hurry, so I left out that there's a second playable character, a warrior whose already in the Deep Labyrinth. While the other mode is more based on exploration and story (the world the kid is stuck in is a place where memories are stored and organized or something like that, a lot of weird talking characters like elephants, mice, and walruses), the warrior's game is true hack 'n' slash. You have to go through as many levels as you can through the dungeon.
