It all depends on whether the release of the Xbox 360 256MB Memory Unit means that XBLA games can now be 256MB instead of 64MB, because Ben Herman complained that SNK couldn't compress the NeoGeo titles lower than 128MB. Someone needs to do a follow-up interview with him because he made that comment before Microsoft announced the new unit.

The real bad news from the interview that Yoshi did not mention was that KOF XI, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, and KOF: MI2 are not coming to Xbox 360, which sucks because those games would have benefitted from Xbox LIVE.

One of the big problems is that most remaining fans of 2D games are h4rdc043 enough to spend the $$ to import. In effect, most of the potential buyers already have the game by the time a domestic release is ready.

Are you sure they can only charge $5 for games on VC and XBLA? I was thinking Nintendo would have their console-specific areas, then maybe an area for other games and companies could put whatever price they want on the other games.

Yes, there is no room on the ps3 or xbox 360 for shitty looking, 10 year old, 2D SNK games.

Not sure about the VC, but I know Microsoft allows third-parties to set the price of their XBLA content.

$5 for single-player games. $10 for the 2-player games, since some effort would be required to make sure the games play well over LIVE.
