I don't think anybody here is arguing that nothing needs to be done. (and the language issue is brought up specifically by the one bill being put through now). We all agree that there is a problem, but people are distorting reality, and nobody is presenting real solutions to the problem. (in fact, many of the solutions are harmful).
There are a lot of problems with drug gangs waging war at the border. You know why that is? Because our drug laws are ridiculous and the War on Drugs is a nightmare of unimaginable proportions. They wage war because selling drugs to America is profitable. Selling drugs to America is profitable because the government spends $50 billion plus a year trying to stop it. The War on Drugs is little more than a price control system for the drug industry. Relax drug laws and the problem will cease.Quote:
