The problem I have with illegals is that they don't have the same sort of force behind them if their employers are mistreating them, you know? Like, some guy works for a cleaning company and they make him do all the work and he gets hurt frequently and can't take time off or something, but he has nowhere to turn for help, really. He can't be like, "If conditions don't improve, I'm calling the labor board..." because then he gets found out.

I could care less if they're paying taxes or doing something that the xenophobes in charge tell me is bad.

I also don't want a national anthem in Spanish. But only because it'd probably sound like a reggaeton song.

I challenge everyone whose against the national anthem in Spanish to sing the English version without looking up the words.

As for the national anthem thing... well I actually wouldn't care, but DNG pointed out that it has references to "Latina" and "Latino" and isnt really in the spirit of the anthem and kind of shits on the Constitution like that, which I dont like. But thats nothing to compared to how Bush has shit on the Constitution, so it's not a big deal.

The difference being that Latinos changing the national anthem, even if they madlibs every other word to be cock or sweaty balls, is protected under 1st Amendment free speech, while Bush's warrantless wiretaps are in direct violation of the 4th Amendment.

EDIT: Let's not forget there was a war fought partially over warrantless searches decreed by an autocrat; The American Revolutionary War.

Don't be stupid. Those two points are not related. I can like Star Wars in english, and have no desire to ever watch it in spanish with out knowing all the lines to the fucking movie.

That's a moronic comparison. My point is that if you don't care enough to learn the words to the anthem in your own language, why does it suddenly bother you if someone else is singing it in theirs? In other words, why does the anthem only become important to you when it's being sung in a language other than English? I find it ridiculous.

Thats relative. People don't realize how much they like something until someone dicks with it all the time. Just becuase someone doesn't know the ins and outs of something doesn't make their feelings about said something not valid.
