Sacred Cow Barbecue

My issue's at home, but I'm fairly certain ECM gave FFVIII a 68. Which, while low by GF standards, is actually somewhat high considering his scathing review.

I think Eggo and ECM both reviewed it. Eggo game it a good review, but ECM trashed it. It definitely did not get universal praise from the magazine.

I loved the Shenmue review back in the day. So dead on. I never cared for Halverson Gamefan but I loved ECM Gamefan, even though it was sometimes jaded just for the sake of being jaded.

Fuck off. Vigilante 8 is the best car combat game ever put out. Better than any Twisted Metal, Including Black.

N2O was great on Hallucinogenics. I still own a copy.

MK4 is still fun. every MK game, excluding current gen crap, is still fun.

i looked in my january 2000 issue and the game isn't reviewed in it.

I found the issue (Sept. '99). In Viewpoint, ECM has nothing but derogatory things to say, but still gives it a 68. Dangohead mentions the graphics were nice, but goes on to say, "I found no enjoyment in playing this game", and gives it a... 78! Only Cerberus has mostly positive things to say, and doles out an 85. All three make derisive comments towards VII. I didn't re-read Eggo's full review, as it's four pages, but he gave it an 88.

Yet Sonic does the same thing & doesn't deserve the high marks?
Gamefan was probably the only Magazine to really give Sonic Adv. it's recognition.

Sonic Adventure was amazing at the time, if only for the Sonic and Tails levels.

Ive never played through OOT - not really my cup of tea, the whole "everything is better in 3D" thing isnt - and I think GTA is WAY overrated, but I have played through Sonic Adventure when it 1st came out and it certainly wasnt the BEST GAME EVER, which 3 perfect scores would indicate. It was good, but the best game ever? Come on.
