This news is about a week or two old but I think some people might not be totally aware. Skype from what I see is a fancier voicechat except you can call actual phonelines via the "skype out" feature.
Normally you'd have to pay a fee for it but now it's free (within the US and Canada) till the end of the year.
I've only used it to call my brother and he said my voice came in really clear. Cool beans.
i used it to talk to my friend who's stationed in germany, it was clear as day man, and free! WOO! no wonder the phone companies are going nuts... tough shit i say.
I used it before when I lived in tejas. It's pretty cool. meh.
I use Skype for voicechat when I play Starcraft.
My GF uses Skype for business calls when she works from home (bc her cell is like from 1905 and sucks). She pays for it (it's cheap though) and thinks it's great.
