Why? It's pretty central to how the controller works and aside from Wii Sports we haven't seen a single game that only uses the Wiimote. The nunchuck will definitely be in there.

The classic controller is a different issue. I expect that'll be sold separately with the $5 credit thing. Nintendo really wants people to buy into the virtual console because it's pretty much all profit for them and everyone else involved.

The Wii HAS to include the nunchuk. The other shit will probably be sold separately, though.

At the very least, the nunchuck attachment has to be included, since it's required to move Link around in Zelda Wii.

The Wii has more to it than the NGC. The upgraded chips, WiFi, RAM and flash memory add a little bit onto the price. Still, $250 is a bit steep for the technology.

I still haven't seen a system selling game yet.

The money is for the controller, which probably spent ages in R&D and cost a decent chunk to develop. The core hardware isn't where the money was sunk, but that doesn't mean the thing as a whole was cheap to develop.
