I've encountered ALL of those (except for the man at the store one).

My mom called EVERYTHING a Nintendo....and she was stuck to the thought that my NES would mess up her TV.

My dad still believes this. It was quite a mind fuck when I told him that the 360 uses BETTER tvs (HD) than the big screen in our family room. He still doesn't want the games on the tv, though.

Wow, your people are advanced. My parents would call everything Atari, not Nintendo. And the games were "tapes" for some reason.
