I'm buying either a laptop or a good camera (DSLR) this month, haven't decided which though. I sort of need the laptop for school, but the lack of camera thing is killing me.

I love leopard geckos. They're so cute. I wanted to get one back in my crazy reptile pet phase, but i never did. They're one of the few animals i wanted to get back then that i'd still like to keep today.

Yeah, I have an earlier model (A400) and I love it. The color reproduction is particularly fantastic, though it tends to favor flesh tones.

Nice to know, thanks Nomi. It just struck me as an excellent value camera, with its performance, features, and build (though supposedly the outputs' hinged doors are made of a cheaper material, but I'll live with that); I also appreciated it having a twist & swivel LCD screen and it only needing AA batteries, welcome features for when my younger, teenage brother or anyone else might use it. And getting everything (camera, sd card, case, NiHM batteries w/charger) all under $300, or in this case $285, was key.

Also, I ordered the Daredevil Vol. 3 HC months ago but it just arrived today:

Damn good buy for $20. It's got the best graphics and handling of any GTA-ish game out there. Also, Suikoden V arrived this week, and I plan to get through it once I finish up Steambot Chronicles.

We've managed so far by contracting our bookkeeping and whatnot out to third parties, but as the company expands, they're finding it very difficult to deal with overseas suppliers who deal almost exclusively via email. So they asked me to come up with a solution.

The solution: "Buy me that palm pc, and I'll bring it to work every day, and you won't have to look at it" - and they fell for it.

So I've spent the last little while customising it, and it now kicks all kinds of ass.

My impressions of it were that it looked great for what it is (a remake of the original), with some cool effects like actually showing onomatopias (sp), such as "put!""put", coming from Bonk's feet while he walks, things like that. Simple, but attractive rendered graphics give a visual style reminiscent of Yoshi's Story on N64. Control is very tight, and juggling enemies with your head is awesome. Unfortunately, the game is a little dumbed-down and very easy- I doubt anyone will see a game over screen until the last boss.

Circuit City was a wash on DII. They gave me a raincheck, but I doubt that'll help cause they're probably pricing it that way so they can ax that sku and just keep the battlechest for the long haul. Snagged a DS Lite while I was there and have to say I am impressed. Glad I waited this long and don't think I'll even mind if it comes out in black later cause white is actually pretty slick.

Agreed.

Went to Gamestop while my g/f was at the bank. Buy 2 get 1 free used sale, so I picked up the following:

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (XBox): Just played through the first half-hour or so. The atmosphere in this game is second only to HL2. Starbreeze really nailed it. Best movie-based game ever.

Freedom Fighters (XBOX): Rented this years ago for PS2, really enjoyed it, but never got around to buying it until today. This is one of the great unsung classics of the previous generation, everybody really needs to try it.

Mortal Kombat: Deception (XBOX): Haven't played a fighter in a long time, so I picked this up. It's really fun, even though the Konquest mode is really dorky. I love unlocking stuff in the Krypt. Anyone wants to play some Kombat (either regular or Puzzle) let me know.

I only caught it once on TNT's Monstervision like 6 years or so ago. I'm assuming it was cut up pretty badly but I still enjoyed what was there. In fact, I fell in love with it. It's pretty much an arthouse zombie film that makes you go "WTF?" a lot so make your decisions accordingly.

Hit Circuit City yesterday, grabbed Diablo II, LoD, and the Starcraft battlechest each for $7.99 (they price-matched LoD cause they were out of HL:Eps. 1). Never played Diablo before, but it seems pretty visceral for a dungeon crawl. Outstanding music as well. Unfortunately, it also seems fairly mindless and repetitive. Does it get better the further you get into it?

I really hope they have more Episode 1's in tomorrow.
