Seriously, we don't know how many times we're gonna have to say this shit. I recently figured out that it isn't 1998 anymore, and I hope you do the same soon. My entire rig plus all my games costed less than a 360. My next will be more expensive, but that will be a lot of vanity spending, yet still a fraction of what a console, memory card, 2nd controller, game(s), s-video cables, and online service, not to mention HDTV would cost.

Yes, I had to upgrade to a VooDoo whatever for $180 in 2002, but it was worth it and I havent had to upgrade since...
You don't need an HDTV for console gaming any more than you need a 30 inch Apple Cinema Display for PC gaming.Quote:

I just did my yearly $2000 upgrade to stay relevant. :(
Okay, that covers the video card, but what about everything else? Man, your computer must suck.Quote:

Okay, so maybe I exagerrated about the cost of the games, and I do admittedly play a lot of older stuff. but I think you get the picture. I'm now looking at buying good speakers or headphones. I'll definitely need to upgrade after this year though, but it isn't like I'll need a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. And I can use it to do a lot more than just play games on.
It's one thing to compare PC's to consoles in the $100-$200 dollar range, yet quite another once you reach the $300 dollar mark.
I bought a new $5000 computer in January and I have to turn down all the settings in every new game =(Quote:
