yah but even the current Toshiba HD-DVD player doesnt support DL discs....though the newer ones do.

The Toshiba players have always read dual layered discs. You are thinking of the Samsung BD player only.

dumb noob question, but what "definition" are movies made in?
Erm, HD. The term high-definition is pretty much a catch-all for anything above standard television resolution (640x480). What you're probably wondering is, "What resolution are movies made in?" and that varies based on the medium and cameras. If you're thinking of your average Hollywood movie I'd imagine 90% of them are in the same resolution but I don't know what it is.
