That bee means business, nice stuff Toupee!
Trying to think up characters, I drew a big ol' queen lady and a mouse and then couldn't stop thinking about Mr. Drippy. That game is sticking in my brain like crazy!

he's secretly an assassin, hired by the QUEEN Queen Bee to sort out those horrible giant hornets that invade bee hives.

Robocon and Robin-chan from Ganbare!! Robocon. Taken from this image. kawaii-chans, desu ne
DANG I had a nice big reply that just got erased... so to paraphrase: JM I want to buy a copy of that real bad, and Finch your robit is delightful!
5 minute sketch of the perfect surprise party guest! Lol
Attachment 68566
JM, that's freaking fabulous. I'd buy a print of that hotness.
who wants sketch cards?!?!
i like that mario. he looks more luigi though
I think that first one is a super-saiyan Hero.
JMbo, I like those kaleidoscope things! Also, Adventure Time is totes mathematical. It's really energetic.
Finch, I like that Pinhead-chan!
Pineapple! I like that mouse!
Toupee: that bee looks pretty sketchy! I wouldn't buy what he's selling!
Bacon: I can't read that graffiti but I like it! I was gonna do a Dracula graffiti to represent TNL but I flaked out.
And Shinobiwan: teacher should've given you As for that work. Solid pencils!
This thread does nothing buy make me depressed that I can't do much more than draw stick figures.
Amazing stuff JM, really.
Cannot rep enough, I love those colors! Especially on the horns, that purple just makes it pop!
Those colors would not print well on a shirt, but it's a great piece!
Starting to make some movement on designs for a Wes Texas comic. Maybe. Maybe.

Cool stuff man. Following that tumblr now.
Your drawings are fascinating! I bet if you put more time in it, you'll be totally be in the spotlight.online casino
Not sure if spambot.
Since I started the tumblr, I'm using it as an opportunity to do a theme I'd had knocking around in my head for a bit: Draw a few vidjagame bosses every week. Not obvious ones everyone and their mother has seen a million times like Ganon or Bowser or whatever, just random ones no one ever does.
Here's the area 3 boss from Contra:
http://25.media.tumblr.com/df16771cd...gdho2_1280.jpg
Any boss suggestions?
I really like these Bacon. Keep it up.
How about the giant fish girl from Silhouette Mirage
Hm, mayyyybe. I think I like the two sub-bosses that come before her better, though. A Treasure-themed block of these is definitely on the docket, in any case.
I'm using the pens you got me for these, btw. They're pretty great!
Would any of you want to draw a HK-tank from Terminator? Preferably looking less like Johnny 5 and more like a bad motherfucker. I know I asked for art before, but that release fell apart. This one involves financial obligations so it won't. PM me and we can type about details and money and your mother.
I think Justin Hamrick would be best at that and i already have a few things i'm working on for people from here that i need to finish or i would offer.
How strange I would click this very thread!

...
Dangitguys! I just drew a cop and I just drew a Zelda boss! let's let this thing play out a bit more before we see recurring themes!
Working on Sigma though. Might be a bit, it's a complicated one.
DANG BACON, MAGUS SISTERS.
The thought had occurred!
How about something from ALIEN SOLDIER.
RONALD MCDONALD TREASURE LAND
WONDER DOG
BUBSY THE BOBCAT AND CLAWS ENCOUNTERS OF THE FURRED KIND
Here's all the ones I haven't posted here yet. If you're not following the tumblr, ya should!
In order:
-Genie from Link's Awakening
-Dullahan from Vagrant Story
-Edi. E from Final Fight
-Esoomian Skiff Guard from Super Return of the Jedi
-The Magus Sisters from Final Fantasy IV
Those are all really cool! Edi. E's my favorite!
I'm doing a page for a book that's currently running a Kickstarter - a book by Art Thibert, a comic's artist who's been around for a long time and inked stuff like Batman, Hawkman, and Ultimate Spiderman. His dealie is here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...he-cosmic-road
The big reason I did a page and am pushing this is my brother works for Art and has been doing the lion's share of promotion for this thing. So I tel folks I know about it, and spend inordinate time on a page (when I could be working on my animation test instead ;p)
That came out really good, hero
Thanks! ^_^
(I'mma be sad if the book isn't published, and this never gets printed in anything)
It struck me how cartoony that Art Thibert stuff is, but then I went and looked at his older stuff. In my mind's eye, he was just another Lee/Silverstri clone, but no; he's always had an exaggerated style.
I'm backing it.
Singing Fusion Bot: Purge the King from Space Channel 5 pt. 2
Sweet! Space Channel 5 doesn't get enough recognition beyond the occasional Ulala drawing
Occasional? If this were a different part of the board, I'm pretty sure I could show you lots of Ulala drawings...
Mannnn I just drew a dope ass Leatherhead
Now to destroy it with shitty inking yay
Fire Emblem art inspired this. I'm stealing Bacon's label of Jehuty Feet.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/att...3&d=1363047561
First time I've inked anything in god only knows how many years. So many mistakes. It's mostly shitty but I also kind of like it. I want to do a lot more with it but I might just say fuck it and move on to other stuff.
Nice! Long straight swords with a gradual curve are just the worst for inking, I want to kill myself every time.
Finished Leatherhead! Turned out pretty good! Essentially, I inked it twice, once with a thin tip, then went back and embellished with the brush pen.
Please draw more, MechDeus. start a tumblr
That Leatherhead is great!
Working on a submission for this contest:
http://ayame-kenoshi.deviantart.com/...utm_term=title
Deadline is tomorrow night. Gotta go fast!
It's not looking good for that kickstarter Hero!
I know ._.
I've been telling people about it on FB, twitter, tumblr, just about anywhere I can think of. Even threw in for it. Don't know what other groups I could tap or how (but if you can pass the word on, maybe it can get one last push)
I mean, it's still 4k from being funded but better to try til the last minute than give up right?
They have a few days, maybe it'll be okay.
That Leatherhead is really good bacon. Great line variation on your inking!
Here is the last Adventure Time piece for the show at the end of the month. This one is just ink and water. I rarely work in ink washes, so it was a fun piece. It is rather big for a ink piece too (22" x 28"), so that adds to it as well. Reminds me of an old Micky Mouse cartoon or something.
Click for full size
Welp, they hit 10k just now! I have renewed faith!

Oh geez, I hope this thing wins something:
So doing progress snapshots is interesting. It gets me to acknowledge how much I can get done in a short time (I always consider myself too slow), and it makes me realize how an older version I thought good and done could look lame with a little more effort!
*vomits art*

EDIT: OH YEAH THE KICKSTARTER REACHED ITS GOAL!!! Wooooooo!!!!
*passes out*
Good job, Hero, and good luck! I submitted one too. Man, the competition really amped up in the last day (lots of professionals jumped in). I started this around 11am this morning and finished 15 min or so before deadline...would have definitely liked more time, but, it was a challenge to do what I could with what I had. Girlfriend was a blessing, finding screengrabs and other reference materials to help out with scenery and colors.
man Fury it's great looking at the progression of your style. Really cool submission.
Wow, that's a winning submission right there!
I've seen some submissions and they felt like concept art but only a little less...defined? Like, spots of texture repetition, soft or muddy colors, etc. etc Your piece carries a lot of energy, structure, and completeness in it! I really hope it gets in the top 3.
EDIT: No joke, I would love to learn some painting from you, watch a livestream, etc. etc. I could do with being a little more rendered and realistic in my work from time to time.
Who is this Kevin Cameron turd? I just got an email that he won some fan art thing.
Thanks guys, I put almost as much time in to preliminary steps (research, composition decisions, narrative decisions, and competition concerns) as I did the actual rendering. Figured there would a lot of "pin-up" art, and there is, and some of it is brilliant, but at the same time, much of it is very similar in scope and style. There's plenty of grit, but very little tension throughout.
I thought it would be better to stand out, and to that end, I think it's good there isn't another piece in there that reads like mine (nor Hero's, for that matter). If I had more time, I would have youth'd up her face some, as she looks a little too old/rugged for the "reborn" prequel Lara, but the game also suffers from this sort of "beat up your pretty doll but not too rough, or you get a grisly mutilation scene" syndrome, and I thought my version was an appropriate take.
Hero, my process was kind of a mess, but thanks for interest. I should put a step-by-step up soon. This piece is super sloppy, but I tried to focus on important elements like a painter and draw attention away from what could be a litany of errors, given the deadline. The main thing, whatever your style, is still obeying a certain internal logic in the piece, and hiding or overcoming "laziness".
For instance: her ice axe is a very specific item (commercially available, in fact, the DMM Rebel). It's kind of hard to draw since it has curvy lines and looks all warped unless you get it just right, especially at any angle beside profile. In game, it's a tool, and from what I can tell, improvised weapon. It's teethy qualities and aggressive construction (including very obvious fastening) define it. In your pic, it's become a sort of knife-hatchet and has, arguably, lost some of the characteristics that make it an interesting object. Also, even though the tone of your piece is more playful than perhaps any, she's jumping in this weird same-arm-same-leg forward way that seems unlikely, even for a cartoon character.
I guess what I'm saying, is that I'd just up your level of observation on how things are built, and how things work. Even before further 'rendering' or more complex coloring schemes. You really want to sell the idea, even if it's cartoony. Also, be able to justify your decisions. The cloth of her pants suck in around her v-jay and create a nice curve from hamstring to thigh? She only ties her boots with one shoelace? I'm being overly critical right now for effect, and I don't think these details detract from your piece, it has a nice tone and reads well, but addressing them would improve it.
Fury: As usual your art is fantastic. There's something freakish about her right foot that really bugs me (I think there's something weird about the perspective and it seems too pointed for a boot like that) but I like how vertical the whole pic is and the way the flag accentuates that.
Tons of great stuff in here recently, a really nice job by all involved! Glad to see Mech doing some more art too, I really dig the style!
Drew an angry Sharkbear and some friends who are annoyed at his anger, and did some inking on the Gaia piece I started a while back. Finally figured out how to change the scanning resolution on my scanner so I can get more detail and less big pixels, but I still can't get around that damn shadow that happens on a FLAT SURFACE THATS BEING EXPOSED TO BRIGHT LIGHT... how is it even possible?!?
Put a phone book on the scanner lid!

Since we were talking about it here, Fury might wanna see the list of finalists for the TR thingie:
http://ayame-kenoshi.deviantart.com/...ists-360303299
He nor I made it to the top 25 :(
I like the one that has a lot of white space for the top half, even thought the bloody river below her makes it look like she's pulling herself up and out of a vagina.
My last few Boss Battle things... been slackin' too much on these, two weeks between the two. Not good.
Holy shit, that Metal Slug boss is SICK!!! I would believe you if you said that was a concept sketch they used when making the game.
Been doodling Dark Souls characters, then I thought HEY BACON COULD DO SOME DARK SOULS BOSSES! I'd love to see some of them done with your style, like Quelaag or Smough and Orenstein, heck, any of em!
The little DS guys I was drawin'.

I think it's bad. Justkiddingit'sgreat. Bacon, more MORE MOAR
Red Giant FFIV. Not a boss but it would look neat
Digging the simple hatching there. Very Moebius.
Few more Boss Battles- LeChuck from Monkey Island and the Stage 4 boss from Astyanax.
I really like the way you use the greys for shading Bacon, they look so fleshed out feel like they have mass. Especially like the pirate dude.
Two random drawings from the past week or so, one where I was doing the whole "try to use very clean lines" approach and the other with my old "scratchy" approach to drawing.
I like the scratchy.
Really dig the explosion in the first one! Drawin' a nice juicy 'splosion is no small feat.
Looks good pineapple. I like the clean lines but I'd love to see you break out with more line variation. I know I've said it before, but it's true, at the very leas get a larger tipped pen for your outlines and the key lines inside your drawings.
Good work overall man. Keep it up.
It's a good suggestion, and I have some larger tipped pens so I'll give them a shot, thanks JM.
Did some more work on the scratchy pic, went from being probably Dark Souls themed to definitely Dark Souls themed.
Two things I was working on today with the bigger tipped pens. First one I just draw some random lines and it turned into a stylized kind of "pi" symbol, from there I just looked at negative space and drew things into that. Silly shit. Also, I am awesome at drawing cars. lol
Then I thought I'd try a dragon kinda guy, and do something I never do with dragons: texture! Come to think of it, I don't do texture on a lot of stuff, usually. But I like how this one is going.
These were both done with the same 05 Micron pen as opposed to the 005 I usually use.
I dig all the stuff you dudes are doing! Keep it up!
Did more on the dragon guy, quick random bug dude, and then went back and added a few more dots to an old pic to flesh it out some more.
That bug fellow's eyes are great. I love all this crazy linework.
