Version 2 should always have a mustache.
Some scribbling I did on the back of an envelope.
Those... intestines?
You seem like you might like Simon Bisley.
i love the thumbnail version of the clown smile next to the full version.
this man has a streamlined creative process.
Some more of my little warrior guys.
That is some strong hairgel, Pic #2!
Also not a guy I hope.
Good stuff nonetheless.
Wife and Cat (pencil)
My Little Prego (color pencil and marker) Need to tighten up my hand drawings
James and Pyramid Head (color pencil on black paper) concept sketch for a t-shirt
Nice stuff, Low.
Been fucking around with motif design again.
This needs more color to it, but it's a start:
DP?
Serious DP.
The tips are touching.
Technical DP.
Messed around in MSpaint a little.

hahahaha, awesome!
Nice, the nose and evil grin is very Wario.
Another little dude. Before this I never really worked cloth and wrinkles much at all...characters always had bare skin or skin-tight garments, so having that come along is kind-of fun.
Simple design idea for a tattoo for me and my three siblings I did in Mspaint. I kinda like it.
Tattoos by Spirograph™
It was a five minute attempt, I think it's decent. I'm going to hand draw some stuff too, it was a first draft.
Work stuffs (not breaking NDA's doing this):
You're getting paid to draw big wieners? It's like a middle schoolers' dream job!
I really like your line work Hero. The thickness of the lines seems perfect in all the right places, very well done.
Thanks! I'm doing much more vector work since my last job, which prompted me to start building brush libraries. It gives the line weights I normally get from shape tracing original lineart, only faster.
Another character. This one had to be revised quite a bit, and now I think she isn't quite congruent with the others.
I made my first animation at work. Well I did some other stuff before in high school. It's for a game pitch. The actual ActionScript will control the position of the snowboarder during his jump. But this is what the actual motion will look like. I'm not very experienced with flash so I just made a movieclip and imported stuff from Illustrator. I think it turned out OK. I'm not going to be too picky with it since I don't have a lot of time to spend on it. I have to make 44 more of these with the snowboarders gear changed each time.
I don't know how to display .swf files in VBB code. So see the attachment.
Neat, if not crude. Remember that for quick motions, the preliminary and post-action animations sell it more than the move itself (seems like the backflip is quick, would only be a couple frames). Also kind of an odd angle to flip, since I assume snowboards go travel nose first, but that may depend on what your scripter's set up.
For half of those frames the board is just a thick red line which doesn't change width. Is the board a tube?
I think it's because I just haven't put enough variation between board angles & perspective for most of the frames. I'll have to fix it. Also the lead up to the holding frame where he has arms extended makes his head "pop" weird. It snaps towards the camera violently. The motion / angle is alright. The way the game is situated it looks OK. Rough, but passable.
I will have to practice a little more. I kind of got thrown in to this without any animation experience whatsoever (kind of a problem). But I'm having fun with it, though. Seeing your drawing moving and in-motion is a great sensation.
That's stiff as fuck. Think in terms of curves rather than straight lines for animating, well, anything really. As is, it's wobblin' all over the place.
Dumb example: Consider the board. Imagine a cardboard tube. Your board is flat against the tube on the inside. You want that movement to be basically sticking to that cardboard tube. Tilt the opening of said tube so you're looking at a 3/4 angle, factor in perspective if you're feeling saucy, bango. You get better with it, you can start changing the shape of the tube to get a little more interest going, or just get rid of the tube altogether and get all kinds of movement in there. You ain't ready for that, though. Start with the tube.
SHUT UP I JUST WANTED POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT.
Yeah animating is pretty f'ing tedious. I actually have fun with it, but it's not my realm. I'm in over my head here. They thought it was rad just seeing him move, though. So I have that going for me.
I figured if it was for a client, I didn't want to bullshit you!
It's a pretty basic mock-up. If they see the snowboarder moving they'll be blown away (most corporate clients are like that). If they want to have the animation look superfly they're going to have to hire an animator. I am having fun doing it, but this is not my trade and it's disrespectful to it to pretend a graphic designer with rudimentary knowledge of flash could pull off something amazing in the amount of time I have.
On a personal note I'm loving it. There's nothing like seeing the snowboarder actually move and rotate (even if he's stiff as fuck and the perspective is wonky).
That's cool!
Crazy little sketch for Ubi Soft's No More Heroes 2 t-shirt contest:
That is some crazy business. Makes me think of Krull : p
Here's another guy I came up with.
Attack boner?
Taking DA nicknames literally.
Awesome stuff going on in here.
aaaaaaaaaaaand more work stuff:
More envelope doodles for your bemusement...
Doodles done on my downtime.
Cool, Hero.
Thanks!
Did this one kinda quick today:
Quickie mock-ups for some little minotaur dudes.
Sword-swinging femme-bot
Lots of sketching!
Great sketching Hero, Kev. I really wish I could do more sketching. Makes a big difference in the looseness of your work when need to really get to business.
Here's some little minotaur guys I'm doing for a project. They're kind-of silly, but there's a lot of parameters I have to work within to generate the designs and keep everyone happy.
My entry for the Muramasa fan art contest. Only learned about the contest a week ago so it's a bit rushed. If there was more time I'd like to darken everything a bit and work more on the trees.
Pretty wicked, regardless. I wanted to do something myself, but I also heard about it a week ago, and it's been way too hectic to do any drawing since.
wow, link to contest?
AND WOW! That's amazing Low!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...more worky work!
Some more mini-minotaurs.
Hero, here's the contest link:

Some impressive work in there.
It's been running since July apparently, Furyfox's KOF XII post was the first peep I heard of it.Quote:

That left minotaur's foot stretches out forEVER.
And I really want to draw a Muramasa picture. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play the game soon and come up with an idea.
Holy shit! Long time no post (actual artwork anyway). I was bored today so I resorted to reliable old standby subject matter. Sometimes it is just fun to draw monsters. So here is a zombie I did this afternoon/evening.
Not exactly what I usually post, but it is good fun I think.
That's pretty awesome!
I did a Luigi in paint to complement my Mario. "Your moustache is looking quite vivacious today, brother," he'd say.
Hahaha. that is pretty great. I love the pink nose. Are you doing these with a mouse or a tablet? On one hand using a tablet with Paint seems absurd to me, but I'd be flailing all over the place trying to draw anything with a mouse period.
I'm using a tablet but I'm hardly being professional about it, just hacking away.
Ok, I feel better now. I recently got a 12 inch intuous 3, and I've been playing with that a lot. I'll post some tablet doodles soon (the zombie was done on sketchpad on my iphone, that's why it is so low res).
Yeah, I'm probably going to fix that. It's as much the front leg not selling the foreshortening as the back one being stretched out too far. I really hate the anatomical proportions this project sticks me with, because it makes it really hard for me to pose the characters. They're basically the opposite of what I normally draw (short torso/long limbs/small head/big muscles or boobs), and even posing the stick figures with these weird, baby-like bodies is hard.
How do you like it? I've been using the same 6x8 Intuos2 for 5-6 years now, feels like it needs an upgrade.
I'm still very green to making finished art digitally, but I love it. I've used photoshop as a tool to assist in composing things for my paintings for years, but it is pretty amazing how the program opens up once you connect a tablet to it. I feel pretty foolish for not getting into this earlier.
As far as the size of the tablet goes, I can't see how a bigger one could possibly be worse when it comes down to making marks. The only knock I would give it is that It can be pretty bulky compared to some smaller tablets I've played with, If you ever take it with you for use with a laptop it can be a bit of a pain (the actual size of it is bigger than my 15" Macbook). But since this is the first one I've owned, I'd hate to lose drawing area with a smaller one.
I got it for the right price too, trading a comission for a medium size painting!
Sounds like a great snag. I think in addition to the bigger size, having the widescreen aspect ratio would be nice. I have to force proportions on mine, so I'm losing another inch or so off the bottom as well. I've used some big tablets on-site and they definitely make a difference in the level of control.
tell me about it! I've had an original Intuos 1 4x5 (you know, the smallest one) since 2002 and I'm pretty sure it's contributed to my tendonitis =p
At jobs though I've used the mid and large sizes, along with a large Cintiq on one gig, and it's sublime.
Soooooo...anyone want to trade a commission for an upgraded tablet? =D
oh man, Muramasa contest is over =(
But Low, I was looking at the others and yours is definitely one of the strongest out there. Solid, well constructed, the impressionistic style lending to subject itself, and its unique in a field of samey anime-influenced fan art that overlooks the things you seem to take into considerarion with the work.
So dude, you totally need to win this.
The result of severe writers block:

I made these this past weekend for my niece's 10th birthday party. For some reason 3 days before the party I told my niece that I thought I could do this so I was then on the hook to make it happen. I spent just over an hour on each cake. It's easy to spot where I made errors and decided to hell with it. Anyway, I've posted the pic that I used as a reference. Doing pictures free hand with icing is a lot more of a mess than I thought it would be.
That is cool Joe! Did she like it?
lol "midgetaurs". We prefer the politically-correct 'mini-taurs'. -and here's some more.
I really like the guy in the middle with the mace chain wrapped around his forearm, nice Dynamic pose.
One question though, why do the guys have hooves while the chick appears to have human feet?
Thanks! They actually all have human feet, but some of the footwear is drawn to look cloven. I'm sort-of limited on what poses I come up with, since the characters have to fit a card template, and everything's just full bodies at this point.
Arjue: Those are some chunky pixels. View from the office window sort-of thing?
I drew this at work today on one of those yellow flippy-sticky pads. I didn't finish it, but I'm done with it.

Time spent at the cow pastures, IMO.
It's for a job. Same project as the desert-themed kids earlier in the thread. They get sent to a graphic designer that integrates them into a card game template, but I haven't seen the final result yet.
While I have nothing against them, I don't really consider myself to have some penchant for these alleged busty, half-human chicks. I think most were from videogame designs anyway.
Alleged?
I think Fury should draw more of the busty chicks, with less clothes, and with more busty.
I give you....
Doctor Pinecone.
Yo!
Yeller, awesome
Hero, lookin' great dude, good job.
Passing time doodle. Started with ballpoint pen, switched to pencil and decided to try and work with it. Might fully flesh it out, but kinda lost interest.
Color passes for a small gift for the girl. She finds the blob from A Boy and His Blob incredibly cute. I totally stand by her in this.
Happy Halloween
Trying that newfangled "painterly" look out.
Nice I like it
Uploaded a bunch of doodles and stuff to my flickr page. Some old, some new.

More motif work.
This time it's buttsex with a side of Bear fetish.
It's Sammich Time
Dramatic sandwich lighting. I like it.
Thanks!
Here's some fanart, dood!
Edit: oh, and a cowboy
Added: Say hi to Liz!
