Uh, yea. He didn't win those championships at Purdue.
Anyway, 99 championships to 32
Not bad for a school that didn't exist until 1919.

I don't give a shit about your penis waving over which schools are better, but if you're trying to say the Big 10 won't let Notre Dame into the conference you are delusional. They have been all over Notre Dame's jock to get them in. ND has no problem getting any team they want on thier schedual, will get any bowl bid they qualify for easily, and already have thier own national TV contract. So why would they want to share their money or level of exposure? They don't, because unlike most schools, they don't have to.
Here is the source they cited with some additional info http://www.mndaily.com/daily/1999/02/08/sports/irish/Quote:

The University of Miami is, unsurprisingly, letting their gang off the hook for the fight. FIU kicked almost all (or maybe all) of the players involved off the team but Miami is content wit hsuspending one guy "indefinitely" (read: 2 games) and the rest at 1 game. The shit these guys did was worse than the Albert Haynesworth thing, because they all got into it and started doing the same thing. But, one game.
What that idiot thug Lamarr Thomas said during the fight was just as bad imo and shows how pervasive this thug atmosphere runs in the school and the team.
What a joke, piece of shit school. Why would any parent send their kid to this hovel? What good is a University of Miami degree? This is pathetic. I am embarrassed to be a college FB fan right now.
It's clear that Donna Shalala has crafted this fine educational establishment into her perfect image of class.
It's a mess. Coker should be fired today as should Shalala with no money owed. They better hope that Lou Holtz can come in and coach, they need somebody with a soul down there.
I somewhat agree with this sentiment, but after hearing Shalala's position I agree with her too. They don't want to ruin these kid's lives over one incident, and in addition to the one game suspension there is now a 0 tolerance policy for fighting. They will be off the team immediately for another incident. It is self serving to only suspend most of them for one game though. If they had put the suspensions at 3 or 4 games, i think i would agree with the punishment completely.
I don't mind if the kids get suspensions and are returned to the team, that's fair. However, Shalala and Coker should be held responsible for the atmosphere created at Miami. There is no way that they should retain their jobs. If you were a coach and your high school team got into an out and out brawl with another team, I'd fire you, no questions asked, why is that different in college?
Coker is gone at the end of the season anyway. Miami can't afford to throw away a whole season, or at least not do it so blatantly as firing everyone on the spot. The alums would send less money, the recruiting class would suffer, fan backlash, etc. Sometimes it's easiest just to shut your eyes and pretend it's not happening till it goes away. That's what they are doing and I don't blame them. They can clean the program in the off season when no one is looking (hopefully). I really dont know much about Shalala to say either way what kind of job she's doing.
