weekends are too short
I like to get stuff done on the weekend (studying, working on website, reading, exercising, etc.). But I need Friday night to decompress after the week.
Saturday is usually spent lying around, trying to recuperate from the week.
Sunday is when I actually feel like I have energy, and get stuff done. Of course, its over much too soon.
Three day weekends are a must. Now I know why John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Howard Stern, etc. all have Fridays off.
Now, it gets boring by the end of the third day IMO. But its vastly preferable to be a little bored than too hurried.
Even half-day Mondays (or Fridays) would be great.
Let's make this happen.

I'm on board. BTW, working from home helps tremendously, if that ever becomes an option for you.
-
Weekends too short? No kidding.
-
My weekends are split. I work Saturday, off Sunday and Wednesday. I say make it mandatory to have three day weekends. I hate split weekends.
-
Split weekends would suck ass, although having a weekday off to go to the post office, DMV, doctor, or whatever would be useful. I feel for you guys who punch a time clock. I'm glad those days are 8 years in my rearview mirror.
-
You got my vote diff, I'd rather work 4 10's then 5 8's.
I agree, time clock punchers are in a bad spot. I can take a 2 hour lunch, I can come in at 9 instead of 8, or leave at 4 instead of 5, but I still put in more hours than your average hourly worker. 55 vs 40.
so we do get fucked in the end Yoshi.
-
Yeah, but those 55 aren't under a microscope. I wouldn't trade places with them.
-
I have to work from Home if an emergency comes up. However, Friday, I left at noon, made two calls from home, hit 9, and took a nap all before 5.
Love those days.
Also, I love after lunch meetings that end at two, you think my ass is driving across town back to work?
What do you do Yoshi?
-
I agree, although I don't really require Saturday as well as Friday to unwind (WTF gramps?). It'd never happen though. In my line of work you really do need an extra day to do all the work and not simply 2 extra hours a day. Luckily for me the design work I do can usually be done from my home studio.
-
Yeah I used to have two consecutive days off, those days are 10 years behind me. Which is why I agree with Diff, but add consecutive to it.
