Undying was pretty good. Aside from Barker's involvement this isn't by the same developer but Mercury Steam has proven themselves to have talent with Scrapland.

I seen this on Gamespy. Looks pretty cool. I would love to see a "secret" Hellraiser-themed ring. Don't think we will, but then again, who knows. Wonder if they'll tie this thing into Undying somehow.
There's a new television sci-fi show called Jericho coming out this fall. I guess "Jericho" is the new "cool" name for creepy shit.
Yeah, the main character in Darkwatch is Jericho too.
I'm a big barker fan, I always liked his style so i'm looking forward to this.
Not sure if anyone has noticed(or given a shit), but the demo is out on XBL and it's not bad. Granted, it's not great either...and is fairly counter-intuitive due to the hotswapping of characters, but I was entertained for the short time the demo ran.
yeah i tried the demo last night. the character swapping seems forced and harder than it needs to be. it's like a prettier Brute Force but not even fun.
I thought the demo was quite good aside from the unnecessary QTE part. Awesome atmosphere.
I'm with NZE here. My interest level went up after playing the demo.
fuck, forgot to try the demo last night lol.
will give it a try tonight.
And the demo is region locked.
WTF is this bullshit?
The PC one isn't.
Then I have to actually switch over to windows OS. :( :(
The demo was interesting but not particularly great. Good atmosphere, but there are a bunch of small issues that get in the way. And, as this is the best year for FPS ever, this is simply not good enough.
Random thoughts from the demo:
- I wish the framerate was locked at 30 or something rather than trying for 60 and going all over the place.
- The view bobbing is going to make some people very, very sick.
- Character swapping works but not well. Mapping it to the d-pad and moving squad actions to the A button would have worked better.
- I certainly hope the full game is harder.
- QTEs need to die or be reborn. There has got to be a better solution to failing a QTE than instantly dying and retrying it. That destroys the whole point of such events: it eliminates the shock value and reduces the cost of failure to a mere annoyance.
Is this game in the same vein as clive Barker's Undying? Or is it just another spooky modern FPS?
The latter. Although there is a squad wrinkle that separates it a bit.
this game is very silly. It has some interesting design choices, but how they explain a lot of it is hilarious to listen to.
the whole intro video gave me a Grindhouse Pseudo-Trailer vibe.
I played through the demo and liked it. But someone mention that it is like going through Fat Bastard's bowel, and I kinda agree.
Demo was not too bad. Loved the style.
First review is in. It doesn't look good.
3.0
Well shit, that's too bad.
IGN UK gave it an 8.

Based on the demo, I don't see how it could possibly be a 3/10.
The UK review makes it sound like it's way too easy, and it's definintely no Undying.
I personally thought the demo was awful. The game just didn't feel right, the shooting felt weak, the character switching wasn't fun in the least, and the QTE's were god awful. But a 3/10? I'm not sure it was that bad.
too much whining in that review. from what i played in demo was decent. not the full price worthy, but neat looking and definitely pick up few months when it hits half price point, or so.
PC Demo is ready for download through Stream.Just to let ya know.Im gonna download after my Team Fortress fix later today.
I finished this today. It wasn't bad, really. The graphics are really impressive, especially considering they wrote their own engine and the enemy designs and atmosphere really work.
The gameplay is pretty simple, but there are some pretty intense firefights in there. It definitely is linear as hell (it's almost a fucking rail shooter) and it can get repetitive, but it's a solid rent if you're looking for a horror game with some nice production value.
Oh, and random screens I took. Really is an impressive little engine.
How's the story?
Thread unburied.
Played through this over the past week or so on "normal" and it was way better than I expected it to be. Sure, it's on rails, but I've never really thought of that as a bad thing (kind of like books are on rails, too) and I liked the dialogue/story and art. I had a lot of fun with this one.
It's not that bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to play it, but I've played a lot worse.
I mentioned liking the demo before but when I did play the full game I couldn't get into it. I was very pleased at how smoothly it ran on my PC but the early levels were pretty dull so I stopped playing.
